The Faculty of Arts in Niš will be presented for the first time this year at the Night of the Researchers, which will be held on 28th September 2018, at 5 pm in Niš Fortress. The participants of the project are Vesna Gagić, Head of the Faculty of Arts Library, as well as students from the Department of Applied Arts: Iva Prvulović, Mihailo Golubović, Anastasija Kocić and Aleksa Milošević, under the mentorship of Sanja Dević, Assisstant professor and Jefimija Kocić, Assistant.

As part of the project “Past means the Future”, at the “Night of the Researchers”, the Faculty of Arts in Niš, will present, as a part of their activities, digitized material in the field of cultural heritage, and in the field of art, owned by the Faculty itself: Musical art will be presented with digitized handwritten materials kept in the Library of the Unity Choral Festival in Niš, from the period of the establishment of the Choral Festival in 1966 to the present; Fine art will be presented through the artistic poetics of students and their works inspired by the painter Nadežda Petrović who was the founder of Fine Arts Colony Sićevo from 1905; Applied arts will be presented through the art of Cyrillic fine writing, or calligraphy, which according to some sources, originates from the 9th century of the new era, and digitized materials are from the Faculty Library fund;

Part of the digitized material will be presented on the ELO touch screen monitor (125 x 70 cm), which will be an integral part of the planned setting. A part of the material will be presented with the help of the Augmented Reality app (AR), which will allow visitors to become familiar with the cultural art of the past in a new, interactive way. One part of the activities includes cooperation with the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, with which the team has realized a social game that will form part of the setting of the Department of Mathematics. The social game was designed by Sanja Dević, Assisstant professor at the Department of Applied Arts.
