Music Theory and Pedagogy

The Master Program in General Music Pedagogy aims to enable students to develop a broad range of transferable skills as a basis for their future careers in music theory and pedagogy. As such, it is comparable to the study programs of music education offered by other higher music education institutions in our country and in the countries of the European educational space. The complexity of this study program enables students to acquire a wide array of knowledge and skills in the field of theoretical disciplines, to develop skills for an analytical approach to music and for interpretation, to gain experience in music perception, and to adopt various methods for practical application of the acquired knowledge in their future pedagogical and artistic work. The study program is presented and implemented in the correlation and interaction of theoretical and practical training, through the gradual and systematic mastering of a wide spectrum of concepts of increasing complexity. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded the title Master Art Theoretician.

Performing arts

The Master Program in Performing Arts (modules: Piano, Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Solo-singing, Guitar, Accordion) is a program that is primarily aimed to train students for careers in performing art and pedagogy. As such, it is comparable with the master programs offered by other higher music education institutions in our country and in the countries of the European educational space. This study program is designed to develop a broad array of competences regarding understanding and performing of various compositional techniques within the contemporary aesthetic and poetic artistic concepts, combined with the development of a high degree of individuality and artistic expression. The content of the study program is designed in accordance with the requirements of modern pedagogical practices so as to enable education of concert performers, orchestral and chamber musicians, accompanists, music teachers and versatile artistic personalities able to work in secondary music schools, take an active part in musical life and continue improvement in specialist and Ph.D. programs. The purposefulness of the study program is reflected in its comprehensiveness and multiapplicability, i.e. in the fact that it educates students for solo concert activities, for the participation in ensembles, as well as for pedagogical and creative work in secondary music schools. Upon completion of this program, the student acquires the academic title of Master – music artist.

Painting

The Master program in Painting is a program primarily aimed to train students for careers in visual art and pedagogy. As such, it is comparable to the study programs of painting offered by other higher education institutions in our country and in the countries of the European educational space. The program is designed in compliance with the requirements of modern pedagogical practices that enable education of art teachers and versatile artists qualified to work in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools of general education type, secondary art schools, as well as in interdisciplinary research and artistic teams and cultural institutions. The acquired knowledge is a prerequisite and a precondition for active participation in the artistic life and continued advanced education at the specialist and Ph.D. levels. Upon completion of the program, students are granted the title of Master Artist of Visual Arts. The purposefulness of the study program is reflected in its comprehensiveness and multiapplicability, i.e. in the fact that it educates students for individual painting activities, participation in artistic teams and cultural institutions, pedagogical and creative work in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools of general education type and secondary art schools.

Graphic Design

The Master Program in Graphic Design is a program designed to enable students to pursue successful careers in applied arts and pedagogy. As such, it is comparable to the study programs of painting offered by other higher education institutions in our country and in the countries of the European educational space. The program is designed in accordance with the requirements of modern pedagogical practices that enable education of art teachers and versatile artists qualified to work in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools of general education type, secondary art schools, as well as in interdisciplinary research teams, printing offices, graphic-design, artistic and marketing teams (agencies) and in cultural institutions. The acquired knowledge is a prerequisite and a precondition for active participation in the field of applied arts and continued advanced education at the specialist and Ph.D. levels. Upon completion of the program, students are granted the title of Master Artist of Applied Arts. The purposefulness of the study program is reflected in its comprehensiveness and multiapplicability, i.e. in the fact that it educates students for individual design activities, participation in design and art teams and cultural institutions, pedagogical and creative work in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools of general education type and secondary art schools.
