Aleksandra Vojvodić-Jovović

Aleksandra Vojvodić-Jovović is a soprano with an educational and professional background in music, born in Bar, Montenegro.

Aleksandra’s musical journey began at the Lower Music School in Bar, where she completed her primary music education. She continued her studies at Vasa Pavić Music School in Podgorica, specializing in both Music Theory and Solo Singing under the guidance of Professor Larisa Dašić-Simović.

She later graduated from the Music Academy in Cetinje with a degree in Music Theory and pursued advanced studies in Solo Singing at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo, under the tutelage of the renowned prima donna, Professor Radmila Bakočević. Aleksandra earned her Master’s degree in Solo Singing, guided by the mentorship of Aleksandra Ristić, MA.

Aleksandra has performed extensively both in Montenegro and internationally. Some of her notable performances include: concert at the Pavel Slobodkin Concert Hall in Moscow; performances at Expo in Milan, as well as in Rome, Istanbul, Sarajevo, Skopje, the Croatian Music Institute and Mimara Museum in Zagreb, Filodramatica Hall in Rijeka, Pula, the Croatian National Theatre in Split, Ljubljana, and Belgrade.

Aleksandra has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of Montenegro, performing under the baton of the distinguished Croatian opera conductor Miroslav Homen. Her collaborations include working with Radovan Papović and the Revue and Mediterranean Orchestra, as well as performing under the direction of Miro Krušić with the choir Antivari Musica.

Aleksandra has participated in numerous musical and theatre productions, working with acclaimed directors such as Slobo Milatović, Draško Djurović, and Goran Bjelanović, among others.

Furthermore, she released an album “Korijeni” (Roots) on a CD featuring Montenegrin songs arranged in a New Age style. She worked with her colleague Aleksandar Basarab on arrangements of Montenegrin songs for voice, piano, and flute, which were performed with the trio Gracije.

As a crowning glory, Aleksandra released a single and music video “Iskra Vječnog Plamena” (The Spark of the Eternal Flame), with music composed by Slaven Knezović.

Recently, Aleksandra performed at the Music Centre of Montenegro in the concert Music of the Film Universe, organised by the Montenegrin Cinematheque. The concert was directed by Goran Bjelanović and conducted by Miro Krušić (MA).

Also, Aleksandra is actively involved in national and international music competitions. She served as a jury member at the Moscow International Competition “V. A. Lemeshev“, where she also conducted a masterclass for the participants. Furthermore, she served for many years as the music selector at the festival Barski ljetopis in Bar. 

She is committed to music education, working at Petar II Petrović Njegoš School of Music in Bar, where she served as the head of the institution for three terms. Additionally, she achieved

notable success with her students from Andre Navarra Secondary School of Music for Talented Students (Podgorica) at international competitions.
