Ana Kazimić, DA

Ana Kazimić, DA (1985) graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 2010, with music for the ballet “Love – the Power of New Waking Up”. During her studies, she received three awards from the University for the achieved success. She completed her doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade, at study program – Composition, under the mentorship of prof. Zoran Erić, in 2017. The doctoral art project – dance fantasy “Muerto de amor” for vocal-instrumental ensemble, electronics and dancers – was performed in June 2016 in Belgrade Student Cultural Center grand hall. She was a winner of Young Composers Competition within the „Triorca“ project, initiated by the Norfolk County Council’s Music Service, England, and supported by the European Union’s Culture Program, in 2012. At that time, her composition was ordered, which was entitled “Balcando” and performed by the Symphony Orchestra “Triorca” in Novi Sad Synagogue. At International Composition Competition on the occasion of the celebration of 1700th anniversary of the Milan Edict, announced by the Center for Scientific Research of the SASA and the University of Niš in 2013, her composition “Sol Invictus” was declared the best. She is one of five selected composers in the world selection for “Aurora Fine Arts Festival” in Stockholm in 2017, for which she was ordered a composition, premiered on the final day of the festival at Aurora New Music concert. Out of five young composers, it was only Ana’s work, the composition “Auroriel”, that was re-performed in Sweden at the Grand Final concert of the Aurora “Höstfestival” in Venersborg, in 2017, then in 2018 in the city of Vadsten and again in Stockholm, in the Concert Hall. Her pieces were selected for performances at International Composers’ Review in Belgrade in 2015 and 2018. She has studied with eminent composers including Kshistof Penderecki, Swen-David Sandstrem, Johannes Schellhorn, Michael Vosganian, Paul Pignon, New York composer group “South Oxford Six”. She volunteered as a composer, choreographer, player and consultant for stage movement in concert performances at the National Theater in Belgrade. As a choreographer she worked, apart from the field of Spanish games, waltzes and other dances, on compositions by F. Chopin, В. Mokranjac and M. Tajčević, which she performed as a soloist. Within her dance activities, she was a national, European and the world champion. Currently, she is working as an Assistant at the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
