Boris Pećanac was born in 2000 in Krusevac. He received his primary music education in Nis in the class of Prof. Spomenka Spiric. He enrolled in the High Music School in Nis in the class of Prof. Spomenka Spiric, and graduated in the class of Prof.  Borivoje Mladenovic. He completed his undergraduate and master’s studies at the Faculty of Arts in Nis, in the class of Prof. Dr. Stevan Spalević.

As a student, he won numerous awards, among which the most significant are the first prizes at the International Vlasinsko Prolece Festival in Vlasotince (2024) – Laureate (100 points), at the International Young Pianists Competition in Sabac (2024), at the International Young Pianists Competition in Nis (2023) – Laureate, at the International Sanja Pavlovic Memorial in Aleksinac (2023) – Laureate (100 points), at the International Donne in Musica Competition in Kragujevac (2022), at the International Davorin Jenko Competition in Belgrade (2022), at the Sremska Mitrovica Piano Festival (2021), at the International ULJUS Competition in Smederevo (2021) and at the Art in Experience Festival in North Macedonia (2021).

He has studied at master classes with eminent pianists and pedagogues, such as: Cyprien Katsaris, Ian Jones, Francesco Libetta, Alexander Sinchuk, Mac McClure, Ross Osmun, Rafael Gutierrez-Vélez. As part of the Erasmus+ exchange program, he spent one semester at the Niccolò Piccini Conservatory in Bari in the class of Prof. Emanuele Arculi.

He has performed at a large number of concerts in Nis, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Leskovac, Pirot, Blace, Aleksinac, Prokuplje, Vrnjacka Banja and Vlasotince. He performed as a guest at a concert of the pianist Stevan Spalević at the 65th Festival of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia in the Concert Hall of the Music School in Nis in 2022. He performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts in Nis under the baton of Milena Injac in the Concert and Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Arts in Nis.

He is the recipient of an award from Faculty of Arts in Nis for the eleven significant awards in home country and abroad, as well as an award for finishing the undergraduate studies in the shortest time with a high average grade. He is the recipient of a scholarship for exceptionally gifted students, a student St. Petka scholarship, and an Erasmus+ scholarship for outgoing mobility for the purpose of study.

He is currently a PhD student at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, in the class of Prof. Dr. Dorian Leljak. He is employed at the Faculty of Arts in Nis as an accompanist.
