Concert on the occasion of the closing season of Niš Symphony Orchestra with the Faculty of Arts professors, violinist prof. Jovan Bogosavljević, MA, and conductor prof. DA Milena Injac, was held on Thursday, 23^rd June 2022 in Niška spa on the plateau in front of the outdoor fountain plateau in the presence of a large number of citizens and tourists. Two Faculty students participated in the orchestra: Stefan Stefanović, violinist, MAS student and permanent member of NSO, as well as Mila Todorović, cellist, UAS student and member of NSO by invitation. The works of Monkay, Marques and Piazzolla – “Seasons” were greatly performed by prof. Bogosavljević as a soloist at the concert called “Vive Latino”.

Creative graphic design skills

The final master works of the students of the Department of Applied Arts include a wide range of projects, from artifacts intended to satisfy intellectual and aesthetic needs, to functional products, objects and digital systems. The entire process, from conceptualization to realization, requires the application of creative skills and original visual expressions that transform ideas and concepts into aesthetically articulated two-dimensional, digital and spatial forms, complemented by imagination, vision and innovation. The exhibition includes the works of: Kristina Djurdjević, Nataša Ilić, Aleksandra Stanković, Teodora Nikolić, Sara Popović, Andrijana Stanković, Mila Teokarević, Marko Tomić.

The committee for the awarding at the Department of Applied Arts, composed of: prof. PhD Slavica Dragosavac, president and members: prof. MA Sanja Dević and prof. Anita Milić, based on the overall activity and engagement of students in the past academic year, unanimously decided to award this-year awards in the field of design to the following students:

Three-member commission composed of: prof. DA Slobodan Radojković, president and members – prof.  MA Bojan Živić and Jovana Djordjević, Assistant professor, based on the insight into the overall activity of all-years students at the Department of Visual Arts in the past academic year, is unanimous in the decision that this year’s winner of “Velizar Krstić” Graphic Award will be Natalija Ilić, 3^rd year student of UAS, for exhibited graphics within a series of portraits realized in the algraphy technique.

A special attitude towards drawing, understanding of the expressive possibilities of algraphy and Natalija Ilić^,s continuous dedication to the graphics – resulted in graphics that are characterized by authentic manuscript and high technical level of realization.

The Commission for awarding prizes to students of undergraduate and master academic studies of Painting, based on all works exhibited at the annual exhibition of the Department of Visual Arts students, evaluated on 13^th June 2022 and decided to award the following prizes:

Premiere of the opera “Carmen” by J. Bizet (joint project of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Niš Symphony Orchestra and the National Theater Niš) will be on Tuesday, 14^th June 2022 (and the second premiere on 17^th June 2022) at 8 pm at the National Theater in Niš. The following professors of the Faculty of Arts in Niš will perform – soloists: Aleksandra Ristić, MA, Saša Arsenkov, MA and Katarina Simonović-Ivanković, MA, Marko Milisavljević, teaching associate, Ana Kazimić, assistant professor, Nikola Mikić, the Faculty of Arts in Niš alumni, the Faculty of Fine Arts in Niš students: Lazar Lazarević, Jelena Jovanović, Nena Djurić, Nikola Stamenković, Miona Vukadinović, Ema Ćoćić, Milica Rakić, Damjan Mišić and Emil Verzio, as well as the Faculty of Arts in Niš choir Maestrini (conductor Ivana Mirović, MA). Piano students in the class of Assoc. prof. DA Stevan Spalević won second prizes at XIX International Competition Donne in Musica 2022, Kragujevac / Belgrade:

Andjela Spasić, first-year student – II prize (94 points) in category VII

Katarina Bošković, third-year student – II prize (92.8 points) in category VIII

Svetlana Stojanović, master student – II prize (90, 8 points) in category IX

Sara Stojanović and Marta Pejčić, fourth-year students of the Department of Applied Arts, were shortlisted for the 17^th competition for the latest production of theater posters and graphic design in the Republic of Serbia. The selected posters are in the category of the conceptual design of theater posters, on the theme of Merlinka Festival 13. The exhibition is open on 26^th May and lasts until 3^rd June during 67^th Sterija Pozorje in Novi Sad.
