After the successful presentation of the Faculty of Arts at the jubilee X festival “Science is not scary”, the Department of Applied Arts will repeat the promotion “Interactive Guide to Visual Systems in the Space”, and at this year’s Mathematics Festival “Mathematical Computing”, which will be held on 12^th May 2018, in the Regional Center Niš, from 10 am to 4 pm. Participants of the project are the following students from the Department of Applied Arts: Iva Prvulović, Mihailo Golubović, Anastasija Kocić, Ivana Cvetković, Jovana Živković, Aleksa Milošević, Dejan Ristić and Ana Branković. Mentor: Sanja Dević, Assistant professor; Assistant: Jefimija Kocić.

Antonina Vukašinović, the first-year piano student, in the class of Jovanka Arandjelović, MA, Associate professor, won III prize (80 points) in IX category at V International Piano Competition in Smederevo. Congratulations!

Prof. Stefan Altakov, PhD, Head of the Visual Arts Department and prof. Laura Dimitrova, PhD, professor of decorative arts and art theory at the Visual Arts Department of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, will open an exhibition of works on Monday, 14^th May 2018, at 7 pm in Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjazevačka 2a steet.

In the framework of international cooperation with the Visual Arts Department of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, in the period 14^th – 25^th May 2018, Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš is hosting prof. Stefan Altakov, PhD and prof. Laura Dimitrova, PhD, who will hold a presentation of art achievements, as well as deliver a lecture on contemporary art practice in Bulgaria to the Faculty teachers and students.

The exhibition of illustrations “Ancient Slovenian mythology and sensibility of the 21^st century” by Anita Milić, Assistant professor at Department of Applied Arts at Faculty of Arts, will be opened at the Horeum Margi-Ravno Museum in Ćuprija on Friday, 11^th May 2018, at 6 pm.

Sofija Stajić, a horn student in the class of Milan Stajić, MA, Assistant professor, has won I prize in V category at International competition “Petar Konjović”, held on 6^th May  2018 in Belgrade. According to the jury consisting of: prof. Milan Radić – horn, prof. Mladen Djordjević – trumpet, prof. Miloš Djordjević – horn, prof. Marko Marković – trumpet, the performance was very successful and with a serious and demanding program. Congratulations!

At International Piano Competition held on 5^th May 2018 in Smederevo, students of the Chamber Music Department won three first prizes. Congratulations!

Miloš Vuković, a third-year guitar student in the class of Vesna Petković, MA, Associate professor, won I prize in the competition in VII category at the “International Guitar Festival – Tremolo” in Skopje, Macedonia. Congratulations!

The opening of the solo exhibition “Missing” of Slavica Dragosavac, Associate professor at Faculty of Arts, will be held on 10th May 2018 at 7 pm in the gallery “Atelier” in Rome. The exhibition will last until 24th May  2018.

The concert entitled “Music album” by chamber music students, in the class of Dragana Djordjević, MA will be held on Wednesday, 9th May 2018, at 8 pm in Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjaževačka 2a street.

Vera Radisavljević, a piano student, in the class of prof. Stevan Spalević, won II prize (94 points) in X category at V International Piano Competition in Smederevo. The jury consisted of eminent professors and pedagogues: Dejan Sinadinović, Aleksandar Serdar, Nenad Kačar and Branislava Ranitović. Congratulations!
