DRAGOSLAV AĆIMOVIĆ

DRAGOSLAV AĆIMOVIĆ, MA (1964) began his Piano studies at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, in the class of prof. Igor Lazko (Russia), and continued at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He graduated in the class of prof. Arbo Valdma (Estonia), and obtained his MA degree in the class of the same professor at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. Among several awards won at the competitions, the most prominent is the participation in the finals of the International Piano Competition Danube-Donau-Danube held in 1993 in Novi Sad, as well as Special award for performing of the works of J. S. Bach at the same competition. He has upgraded his skills with prof. Lydia Kuteva (Bulgaria). As a pedagogist, he worked at the Music school in Niš, at the Faculty of Arts in Priština and since the establishment of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, he has worked at the Department of Piano, at present in title of a full professor. He has received a large number of the first prizes at national and international competitions with his pupils and students. He is a frequent jury member at piano competitions. His concert activity ranges from the concerts of a recital type to the solo concerts with the orchestras. He has worked with a great number of conductors, D.Savić, S.Kostić, Š.Damadzić (Serbia), A.Novicki (Ukraine) and A.Andrejev (Bulgaria). He has performed in Serbia, Bulgaria and all the former Yugoslav republics. During the period 2004-2012, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, and currently is the Head of the Department of Fine and Music Arts of the Scientific Research Center of Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU) and the University of Niš.
