An exhibition of illustrations by Jefimija Kocić, an Assistant at course Spatial Graphics of Applied Arts Department, was opened on Wednesday, March 28th, 2018 at 6 pm at the Museum Gallery “Horeum Margi- Ravno” in Ćuprija. The exhibition is open until April 12th, 2018.

“Our daily bread” is a series of illustrations with the task of pointing out the leading problems of the society we live in. The goal is to ask questions about existence, freedom of thought and speech. Bread was chosen as the main symbol of life sustainability.

From the imaginary point of view, bread has multiple significance – it is a symbol of prayer on the path of soul salvation, but also a symbol of the society advancement. The society progress is not in accordance with an individual,s wishes and attitudes. Thus, we get a situation where “someone else,s something is always sweeter”, whereas existential progress in the home country is not possible. “The brain drain” is what society ultimately receives in response. The path of “salvation” is reflected in the presentation of all the consequences that one individual, as well as society has, if pursued by such a thinking policy and phrases such as “belly for bread” must be replaced with phrases such as “a grain on the grain- bread”. The path that an individual must cross is difficult, but not impossible. Feeling of alienation in one’s own country should be rejected by high-quality argumentation. The idea of ”bread with seven crusts” is not the same in the motherland and “newcomer” country. The bread thus becomes a symbol of the young generations, suffering.
