Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA, was born in Niš, where she graduated from the High Music School (Solo Singing Department) in the class of prof. Gordana Milošević. She continued her education at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo (B&H), at the Department of Solo Singing, in the class of prof. Aleksandra Ivanović. She completed her undergraduate studies in the class of prima donna Radmila Bakočević, PhD prof. emeritus. She also upgraded her skills with eminent pedagogues of solo singing Biserka Cvejić and Olivera Miljaković. After completing her undergraduate studies (2004), she continued her studies at postgraduate studies, also in East Sarajevo (B&H) in the class of Radmila Bakočević, PhD prof. emeritus.

She began her pedagogical work during her studies in Sarajevo (B&H), and since 2006 she has been working at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, where she is currently an Associate professor at the Department of Solo Singing. During her pedagogical career at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, she achieved notable results, her students won a large number of awards at international and domestic competitions.

Apart from pedagogy, she also has a notable concert activity. In addition to a large number of recitals in the country and abroad, and a large number of solo performances with choirs: “Chamber Choir of the Department of Church Music and Singing, University of East Sarajevo”; “Choral singing society Branko – Niš”, “Niš Chamber Choir – Niš”, “Choir and Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts in Niš” (Sweden, Russia, Italy, Great Britain, USA, Canada, Greece, Switzerland, B&H), and solo performances with orchestras “Konstantinus” – Niš; “Niš Symphony Orchestra” – Niš; Orchestra “Amorozo” – Leskovac; Strauss Festival Orchestra– Spain; the following performances should certainly be pointed out: A. Vivaldi – “Gloria”, G. B. Pergolesi – “Stabat Mater”, V. A. Mozart – “Requiem” at 25th International Choir Festival in Niš, L. van Beethoven “9th Symphony” on the occasion of 1700 years of Edict of Milan, a tour with the “Strauss Festival Orchestra” in Spain and Portugal. She has performed at festivals such as “Nimus” – Niš, “Sarajevo Winter” – Sarajevo (B&H), “OKTOH” – Kragujevac, “Piano Summer Festival” – Ohrid (MK), “Konstantinus” – Niš; “International Choir Festival” – Niš. As an opera singer, she performed in the opera “The Bat” by J. Strauss in the role of Adele at the National Theater in Niš and Belgrade, the opera “In the Morning” by S. Binički in the role of Stanka, as well as in the comic opera “Phone” G. C. Menotti, the role of Lucy. She has collaborated with the following conductors: Ivana Mirović, Suzana Kostić, Čedomir Popović, Rade Pejčić, Milena Injac, Miroslav Ivanković, Svilen Simeonov, Julij Damjanov, Vladimir Kranjčević, Dejan Savić, Zoran Stanisavljević.
