Maja Djurović (1977) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, at the Department of graphic, in the class of Professor Biljana Vuković. She has been a member of The Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 2009. She had seven solo and over forty group exhibitions in Serbia and abroad. She won several awards for mosaic: the FLU Mosaic Award at the exhibition of the award-winning students for the academic year 2005/2006; Plaque for artistic contribution to the contemporary mosaic by the Artists group “Amethyst” in Belgrade in 2007; Honorary award at the exhibition of Small Format Mosaics by the Artists group “Amethyst”  in Belgrade, 2011 and the award for outstanding artistic work at the exhibition of the 5th Biennial of Mosaics, organized by the Student Cultural Center, New Belgrade in 2012. She won a commendation for printmaking at the 25th October Art Salon in Kovin, 2007; Special recognition for merits at Art Fest & Doral, Miami, Florida, USA, in 2012, as well as Plaques of the “Heritage of Metropolitan Pitirim” Fund for contribution and development of Serbian art in the slavic world at the exhibition “1150 years of slavic literacy and culture” Moscow, in 2013. For the Tourist Organization of Serbia she created replicas of  “Medusa”, mosaic from the ancient settlement Mediana near Niš and “Venator”, mosaic from the “Felix Romuliana” palace  near Gamzigrad in 2013. With a group of artists she participated in making mosaics for the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zemun, 2010; Church of St. George in Gomiljani near Trebinje, Republika Srpska, 2012; Church of St. Procopius in Lukovica village near Gacko, Republika Srpska, 2015; for the  Monastery “Zavala”, Popovo Polje, Republika Srpska, 2016; Church of St. Luka, Ninkovići village, Žabljak, Montenegro, in 2021. She also worked on the realization of the mosaic “Rope Pulling” and “Young Bosnia” in Andrićgrad, Republika Srpska. In the studio of Professor Đuro Radlović, she participated in the execution of a large number of mosaics for the Church of St. Mark in Belgrade, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Topčider; The Church of Christ the Savior in Banja Luka, Republika Srpska, as well as many others.
