Milena Injac, DMA

Milena Injac, DMA is a full-time professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. She graduated in Conducting in 1992 at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, in the class of prof. Stanko Šepić. She obtained her MA degree in 1996 as well as her PhD degree in 2015 at the same faculty, in the class of prof. emeritus Darinka Matić-Marović. She has upgraded her skills two years in a row at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna and collaborated with maestros Jorma Panula, Peter Eotvos, Angel Šurev and Mladen Jagušt. She won First Prize at 3rd International festival “World of music” in Italy, conducting the Niš Symphony Orchestra chamber ensemble in 2000. She was the winner of a prestigious award – “The Golden Badge” of 20th International Choral Festival (IHS) in Niš in 2004. She was the laureate of Euroorchestra Festival in Moscow, Russia in 2012. She has performed with Belgrade Filharmonic, the National Theatre Opera in Belgrade, the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television Serbia, the Symphony Orchestra “Stanislav Binički”, Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Montenegro, the Philharmonic of Sarajevo, the Philharmonic of Macedonia, the Opera of Macedonian National Theatre, Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), the State Philharmonic of Plovdiv, Vidin, Šumen and Vrača in Bulgaria, St. Alban Symphony Orchestra in London, Musica Teatro Ensemble in Rome, as well as the Youth Orchestra Turina in Valencia, the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Oscar Espla in Alicante, the National Symphony and Philharmonic Youth Orchestras of El Salvador, as well as the National Symphony Youth Orchestras, Choir and Ballet “Hose Artigas” and SODRE in Montevideo (Uruguay). Milena Injac was appointed conductor of the International Symphony Orchestra of the central ceremony of 29th Orchestra Festival in Spain in 2010 and International Symphony Orchestra at the Euroorchestra Festival in Russia in 2012. She has participated in the International Review of Composers in Belgrade, Bolshoi Festival of Emir Kusturica in Mokra Gora, NIMUS festival in Niš, Serbia, as well as numerous festivals in Sweden, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Uruguay and Russia. DMA Injac is a Principal Guest Conductor of the Niš Symphony Orchestra and a masterclass leader for the young conductors in San Salvador (El Salvador), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Spain within the renowned Academia Diesis. She has realized lasting recordings for the purposes of radio and TV in the country and abroad and two CD editions of vocal-instrumental and instrumental music, released by the Faculty of Arts in Niš, as well as a DVD recorded live at a concert in Spain, released by the University of Murcia. She has been a multi-year artistic director and conductor of stage performances of J. Strauss’s operetta “The Bat” and the opera by G. Rossini “The Barber of Seville”, within the project of the opera stage restoration in Niš, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the Niš Symphony Orchestra, the National Theater in Niš and the National Theater Opera in Belgrade. She is working as a professor of the subject Orchestra and a conductor of the Symphony and Chamber orchestra Concertante of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš.
