The Music School in Niš is the winner of the Saint Sava Award for 2021 for the overall contribution to the development of music education in the Republic of Serbia. The Saint Sava Award was distributed by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ružić to the school principal prof. Spomenka Špirić in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš supported the candidacy of the Music School Niš by its recommendation and is pleased to congratulate the school principal, staff and students of the school on this significant award.

The prestigious award, named after the Serbian educator Saint Sava, brought 34 winners, including educators, students, teachers, professors, principals, preschools, schools, faculties and scientific institutes. According to the Minister of Education Branko Ružić, this Award has been distributed since 2002; this year there was a record number of over 150 applications, which means that the Commission for the candidates selection had a not so easy task, to choose the best of the best.
