Nikola Marković

Nikola Marković (1976) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the class of prof. Čedomir Vasić. Currently, he is at his PhD studies at the same faculty, under the mentorship of professor Mileta Prodanović. He is a member of ULUS (Serbian Fine Artists Association). In Serbia, he has had solo exhibitions in Sombor (2004), Niš (2006 and 2018) and Belgrade (2015 and 2016). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad, Čačak, as well as in the convocation of several fine art colonies (Sićevo, Classic, Niš Art Foundation…). Since 2007, he has collaborated with the “Suppancontemporary” gallery from Vienna, through which he has exhibited independently and grouply in Austria, Germany, Italy, including participation in numerous art fairs. At the end of the studies, he was selected by art critics among ten promising young artists for the exhibition “Perspectives” (2003). He was the winner of the First Prize at the National Competition for Young Fine Artists organized by Niš Art Foundation, under the patronage of Philip Morris company (2007). He was also in the closest selection for Vladimir Veličković Foundation Award in Drawing (2016). The works of Nikola Marković are represented in significant collections in Austria, and in 2006 the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia bought his triptych from the cycle “Derivatives from non-verbal speech” for the collection of the Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery in Niš. Since 2018, he has been working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
