Nikola Peković, Assistant professor, performed as a soloist with Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra in front of the full hall of the Roman Catholic cathedral at the “Easter concert” on 25th April 2019 in Zrenjanin. They presented the work of Sofia Gubaidulina “Seven Words” for accordion, cello and string orchestra. The soloist on the cello was Nemanja Stanković and the orchestra was conducted by maestro Mikica Jevtić.

One of the greatest composers of today, Sofia Gubaidulina, finds inspiration for this work in the sentences that Jesus uttered on Good Friday, starving on Golgotha, speaking his own musical language, framed by an epoch in which he belongs and in his own relationship with God and religion. The concert was also of a humane character because it was part of a campaign to collect money so that the Choir of Music school “Josif Marinković” from Zrenjanin would go to the competition in Italy.
