Operetta THE BAT

The premiere performance of the operetta The Bat (Die Fledermaus), after 50 years, was held on 22nd May 2013 at the National Theatre in Niš. The bearer of the project was the Faculty of Arts in Niš, with the support of the National Theatre in Niš, Belgrade National Theatre, Students, Cultural Centre in Niš, Niš Symphony Orchestra, the City of Niš, the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

The Operetta in three acts, the first performance in Vienna, on 5th April 1874.

The libretto, by Mejak and Caleb, was written by Hafner and Gene

The story takes place at a Spa near a big city
