PERICA DONKOV

PERICA DONKOV, MA (1956), finished the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1981. He obtained his MA degree in Painting at the same Faculty in 1984, in the class of prof. Radenko Mišević. He has been a member of the Association of Fine Arts Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 1983. He was in the status of a freelance artist until 2008. In 2004, he acquired the status of a distinguished artist. As one of the most important representatives of neo-enformel, he exhibited at all the major art manifestations in the eighties and nineties (the Controlled gesture, Yugoslav documents 89, 30 most remarkable artists of the VIII and IX decade of the last century in Yugoslavia, the Youth Biennial, the October salon…). He has been included in all the relevant considerations of the art scene since 1981. He participated in more than one hundred fifty group exhibitions, and twenty-three times in solo exhibitions (Belgrade: in 1985 – the Gallery of Kolarac Foundation (KNU), in 1994 – the Salon of the Contemporary Art Museum, in 1998– the Gallery of the Association of Fine Arts Artists of Serbia (ULUS), in 2002 – Cultural Center; Niš, Vranje, Gelsenkirchen, Novi Sad, Vršac, Oslo…). His works are in the regular exhibition at the Contemporary Art Museum- Belgrade, Belgrade City Museum, the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Arts (GSLU) – Niš, museums and private collections, public halls, in Sofia, Balchik, Oslo, Gelsenkirchen, New York, Chicago, London, Thessaloniki, Venice. He has won thirteen awards for painting and the greatest social recognition of Niš – the City Award 11th January. Since 2009, he has worked at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the title of the Associate Professor and currently in title of full Professor.
