The promotion of the Faculty of Arts publication – Slobodan Kodela, PhD, "Traditional singing of Niš and Leskovac region in teaching Music"

The promotion of the publication, within the edition of handbooks, written by the author Slobodan Kodela, PhD, entitled Traditional singing of Niš and Leskovac region in teaching Music was held on Friday, 28th November 2014 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Hall no. 6. At yet another promotion of the printed edition published by the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the reviewers Dimitrije Golemović, PhD, and Tomislav Bratic, MA, the author of the handbook, Slobodan Kodela, PhD, and the editor Dragan Tomić, MA, were speaking.

Intensive Master Class course for piano - Đorđe Milojković

December 2014, held by Đorđe Milojković, a professor at the Swiss Academy of music and music pedagogy in Geneva. The final lectures within the Master class course could have been followed live via livestream on the Faculty site.

Master Class Course for accordion and concert - Yuri Shishkin

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized an intensive master class course for Accordion from 24th to 29th November 2014, held by Yuri Shishkin, a full professor of the Conservatory Seregei Rachmaninov in Rostov. Prof. Yuri Shishkin was officially received by the Rector of the University of Niš, prof. dr Dragan Antić, on 25th November 2014. The theme of the meeting was a possible cooperation between the two universities in joint artistic fields, and the occasion was a solo concert which this eminent Russian artist, one of the world's biggest artists in the field of diatonic accordion, held on Wednesday 26th November, in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom.

Master Class Course for Flute – Dejan Gavrić

From 17th – 20th November 2014, Faculty of Arts in Nis organized the intensive master class course for flute, held by Dejan Gavrić, the full professor of the High School of Music, University Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz, Germany. The accompanist: Stevan Spalević.

The Lecture by Gordana Karan, PhD, at the Faculty of Arts in Niš

The lecture, due to the invitation, held by Gordana Karan, PhD, the full professor of the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, on the theme "The timbre determination of auditory perception" was held on November 14th 2014, at 11 am at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, room no. 12.

The intensive Master Class Course for solo singing – Radmila Bakočević

The Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the period 10th-12th November, 2014, organized the intensive Master class course for solo singing, held by Radmila Bakočević, the professor emeritus of the University in Kragujevac. The lectures of Frans de Ruiter, PhD, and Manon Heijne, PhD, at the Faculty of Arts in Niš

In the organization of the University in Niš, the Faculty of Arts and the Center for the scientific research SANU, the lectures of the eminent professors and artists from the Netherlands were presented. For the first time in Serbia, all the interested people were able to attend the lectures of one of the most influential people in music life of all the developed countries, Frans de Ruiter, and the world’s expert in the field of solo singing and music-therapy, Manon Heijne. Due to the large travel schedule, as well as rare appearance at even major and more significant faculties around the world, their arrival represents a great recognition for the University of Niš and the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Lectures were held on Friday and Saturday, 7th and 8th November, 2014 at the Faculty of Arts and at the University of Niš. The official reception was organized with the Rector of the University of Niš, Dragan Antić, PhD, with the topic of possible cooperation between the two universities in joint scientific and artistic fields. The reception was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Suzana Kostić, PhD, the Vice-Dean for artistic and scientific work, Danijela Stojanovic, MA, and the Head of Department of Visual Arts Katarina Đorđević, MA.

The promotion of the Faculty of Arts publication – Dimitrije Bužarovski "Musiconomy – The introduction to the music management, economy and marketing"

The promotion of the publication from the series of monographs by the author Dimitrije Bužarovski, PhD, entitled "Musiconomy – The introduction to the music management, economy and marketing" was held on Thursday, 6th November, 2014 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the hall no. 6. At yet another promotion of the printed edition published by the Faculty of Arts in Niš, spoke the editor Dragan Tomić, MA, as well as the author Dimitrije Bužarovski, PhD, and Suzana Kostić, PhD, as the edition reviewer. The promotion was attended by the eminent artists from the Netherlands Frans de Ruiter, PhD, and Manon Heijne, PhD.

The composers’ lectures meeting the 40th NIMUS

The lectures of the composers Serhio Roberto de Oliveira from Brazil, Brian Martinez from Spain and Dragan Tomić from Serbia were held on Monday, 3rd November, 2014, in the hall no.12. The composers spoke of their music pieces performed at the 40th NIMUS (Niš Music Festival), as well as of their recent music opus.

The promotion of the publication within the series of monographs by Miomira Đurđanović, MA, the Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, entitled Teaching music in Serbia in the 19th and 20th century was held on Wednesday, 29th October 2014 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the Hall no.6. At yet another promotion of the printed edition published by the Faculty of Arts in Niš, spoke the editor Dragan Tomić, MA, the edition reviewer, Jelena Cvetković, PhD, the author, Miomira Đurđanović, PhD, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Suzana Kostić, PhD.

Inaki Alberdi - Master class course for Accordion and Concert lectures

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized the intensive Master class course for Accordion from 21st to 23rd October 2014, held by Inaki Alberdi, the Professor at the ESMUC in Barcelona and the MUSIKENE in San Sebastian. The concert lectures by Inaki Alberdi, PhD, held in the Small Hall at the Faculty of Arts at 8 pm, could have been followed LIVE at the site of the Faculty of Arts through the Live Stream program broadcasted for the first time in the history of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Topics he was speaking about: Aspects of the career development of a professional musician (Learning and formation, Collaboration, Management and Promotion), Aspects of the interpretation of modern music (Repertoire, Technique and the Methodology of learning, the role of Accordion in modern music).

The promotion of the publications of the Faculty of Arts – CD 4 – Nikola Pekovic

On Tuesday 21st October 2014 in the Hall no. 6 of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the promotion of CD by Nikola Peković was held, published within the series of audio editions of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. At the promotion, the editor of the audio and video editions Zoran Stanisavljević, MA, prof. Miljan Bjeletić, MA, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts Suzana Kostić, PhD, were speaking, while Nikola Peković performed several compositions published on the disk. The discography edition was entirely recorded and produced in the Recording studio of the Faculty of Arts in Niš.

BARTF 2014

II Scientific conference with the international participation – Balkan Art Forum, Niš 2014, was held on 10th and 11th October 2014 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. The opening ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the University of Niš on 10th October 2014, at 11 am. The theme of the Second scientific conference BARTF 2014 was: ART AND CULTURE TODAY: THE SPIRIT OF TIME AND THE PROBLEMS OF INTERPRETATION. The artistic program of this year's Forum included the presentation of the creative opus of the composer Smiljana Vlajić, MA, as the representative of Serbia, and the artist Laura Dimitrova, PhD, as the representative of the Republic of Bulgaria. The presentations were held on 10th October 2014, at 8 pm at the Concert Showroom of the Faculty of Arts, no.2a, Knjazevacka St. The artistic program of BARTF 2014 was complemented by the promotion of the second edition of the discography edition of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, on 11th October 2014 at the Faculty of Arts. Sonja Cvetković, PhD, spoke about the edition and the student Dušan Đorđević performed on his guitar.

-	The promotion of the publications of the Faculty of Arts – Danijela Zdravić Mihailović and Jelena Vassilakis "The handbook for the analysis of simple forms - Baroque and Classicism" / CD 3

On Thursday, 16th October 2014 in the Small Hall of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the promotion of the publication: Handbook for the analysis of simple forms: Baroque and Classicism by Danijela Zdravić Mihailović and Jelena Vassilakis was held, as well as the promotion of the audio recordings of the students at the Department of Chamber Music of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. The editors, authors and edition reviewers were speaking at the promotion, and the audience had the opportunity to listen to the concert of the students at the Department of Chamber Music.

-	Ljubinko Lazić with the ensemble "Bassiona Amorosa" - the winner of the prestigious ECHO Classic award

Ljubinko Lazić, the Associate professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, was the winner of the prestigious ECHO Classic award in 2014 as the member of the ensemble "Bassiona Amorosa" in the category "Classical music without borders". ECHO Classic is one of the most prestigious classical music awards in the world, founded in 1994. The winner in 22 categories is determined by a jury consisted of the independent experts and ZDF music producers. "Deutsche Phono - Akademie" was founded on September 27th, 1973 as a non-profit organization of the cultural institute "Bundesverband Musikindustrie" (German Music Industry Association). In 1992, Deutsche Phono - Akademie made a revolutionary step by establishing ECHO awards for the achievements in the field of recorded music at the national and international level.

DIPLOMA 2014 - The exhibition of students at the master degree program of the Department of Applied arts of the Faculty of arts in Niš

The exhibition of students at the Master degree program of the Department of Applied Arts at the Faculty of Arts, entitled DIPLOMA 2014 was officially opened on Friday, 11th July 2014, at 8 pm at the Gallery of NKC (Niš Cultural Center, No. 37, Boulevard of Zoran Đinđić). Co-organizer of the exhibition is the Niš Cultural Center. The Faculty of Arts in Niš, Department of Applied Arts, for the third time has been exhibiting the works of the students at the Master studies. They are the result of their successful five-year artistic research during the studies, through which they have developed, each according to their own sensibility, individual interest in specific areas of graphic design, whether it is graphic communications, poster or spatial graphics. Ten authors, graduates of the Master studies, presented themselves with ten different topics, selected according to their artistic interests, current events, and to their sensibilities. Students at the Master’s degree program of the Department of Applied Arts at the Faculty of Arts in Niš: Mila Polić, Jelena Živković, Snežana Iličković, Jelisaveta Mitić, Jovana Nikolić, Aleksandar Stanojević, Aleksandra Kostić, Tamara Pančić, Mario Marković and Igor Trajković.

Chamber orchestra of the Faculty of arts at the "Bolshoi Festival" on Mećavnik

Chamber orchestra Concertante of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš performed at the Festival of classical music Bolshoi, held on Mećavnik, Mokra Gora from 10th to 12th July 2014. The Orchestra got the opportunity to perform through the official selection of the artistic committee for Bolshoi festival. In the official part of the festival, the Orchestra performed the composition Constantine’s Fugue by Dragan Tomić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš and Adagio and Allegretto from the ballet Lady Magbeth and Golden Age by Dmitri Shostakovich. According to the Festival director Nana Kusturica, the festival promotes young musical talents of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. The jury consisting of an academic, Isidora Žebeljan, a pianist, Aleksandar Madžar and the Dean of the Music Academy in Novi Sad, Zoran Krajišnik decided on the best participants in the competition program at the Bolshoi festival.

Students’ exhibition "From graphic maps"

Students at the elective program Graphics with technology at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, for the second time presented themselves to the public through the exhibition of prints from their Graphic maps. The opening ceremony took place on Friday, 20th June 2014, at 7 pm at the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom (No. 2a, Knjaževačka Street). "The project of doing graphic maps, with a minimum of five prints, enabled the final year students to attempt to express their individual artistic poetry through the graphic technique of their choice, in the form of encompassed artistic whole. The diversity of the exhibited works already announces a possible path of each individual and proves that the authors are on the right path to success". Franc Curk, PhD, Full Professor

Filming "The woman in red, Aria of a seahorse"

Filming the short art film The Woman in Red, aria of a seahorse. The creator of this film, which is being realized within the partnership of Niš Television and the Faculty of Arts in Niš, is the Danish artist Maria Dubin. The film lasts for five minutes and it will be shown first in Niš and Serbia and then all around the world. The music for the film, composed by Frederik Magle, was recorded in a Studio of the Faculty of Arts in the performance of the Orchestra of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, under the baton of Milena Injac, MA, Full Professor.

DIPLOMA 2014 - Exhibition of master’s degree students of the Department of Visual arts of the Faculty of arts in Niš

The exhibition DIPLOMA 2014 of Students at the Master’s degree programs of the Department of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Arts in Niš was officially opened at the Pavilion at the Fortress on Friday, June 6th 2014, at 7 pm. "DIPLOMA 2014, the exhibition of the generation of students at the academic master study program - Painting includes the works of eight authors who have gained their professional experience at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Nikola Milić and Sava Milić have graduated in the class of prof. Đuro Radonjić, MA, Full Professor. Katarina Novaković, Jasmina Obradović and Predrag Milosavljević have gained experience in the field of painting in the class of prof. Katarina Đorđević, MA, Full Professor at the Faculty of Arts ini Niš. Jovana Savić, Dunja Ćirić and Jelena Krstić have graduated under the mentorship of prof. Bratislav Bašić, MA, Assoc. Professor. In spite of the diversity of visual poetics, these young artists retain the traditional research of images as the means of media. Intesive master class course for viola - Ognjan Stančev

The Faculty of Arts in Niš has organized the intensive master class course for viola (4 – 6th June, 2014), lectured by Ognjan Stančev, a Full Professor of the State Music Academy Pančo Vladigerov in Sofia. At the end of the master class course, the active participants performed at the final concert.

II International student complementary piano competition

II International Student complementary piano competition was held on 24th and 25th May 2014. 31 students performed at the competition. On Sunday, 25th May 2014, the eminent pianist, Milena Mollova from Sofia, Bulgaria held a charity concert at the closing ceremony of the competition. The concert was held at the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom (No. 2a, Knjaževačka Street), at 8 pm. The award ceremony of diplomas to the students preceded the concert.

Charity musical marathon and the graphics exhibition of students of the Faculty of arts in Niš

The first in a series of humanitarian actions began with the musical marathon and the graphics exhibition of the students from the Faculty of Arts in Niš, on May 17th 2014. The Faculty of Arts plans to continue throughout the year with a number of activities aimed at raising funds to help the flood-affected population. Collected donations will be sent to the bank account of the Government of Serbia to help the flooded areas.

The opening of the referral center and the promotion of the first legacy of the Faculty

On 10th May, 2014, the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš officially opened the Center for scientific and artistic activities of the Balkans and it held a promotion of the first Legacy of the Faculty. The opening of the Referral Center at the Faculty of Arts significantly contributes to the support and development of cultural, artistic and scientific creativity, since, as a link, it will be connecting the art activities thus forming a single database. The Legacy of prof. Srđan Jaćimović has a significant meaning and importance for the Library, especially from the point of intellectual, cultural, artistic, scientific, and native character. The Legacy of prof. Srđan Jaćimović has a valuable contribution to the development of library and cultural heritage of the city of Niš, in which the professor evinced his professional activity the most.

The exhibition of participants at the "Summer school of serigraphs 2014"

Opening of the exhibition of the participants at the Summer School of serigraphs and promotion of graphic maps was held in Hall No. 12 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš (No. 10, Knjeginje Ljubice Street), on Saturday, 10th May 2014, at noon.

The exhibition "Everything is fine"

The exhibition, titled Everything is fine was opened on Thursday, 8th May 2014, at 7 pm in the Gallery Association of Architects of Niš. Students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš presented their view of the world. The exhibition is educational and incorporated within the curriculum of the subjects - Painting and Painting techniques. Students have undergone the analysis, deconstruction and rebuilding of something that should represent their style and future poetics. This exhibition, now set in Niš, was exhibited in the Student city of Belgrade. Under the mentorship of prof. Miron Mutaović, Nikola Milić, Sava Milić, Predrag Milosavljević, Marko Tošić, Ivan Mitić and Bogdan Stefanović were able to exhibit their works. The students from the Music department of the Faculty of Arts in Niš will perform at the opening ceremony.

Operetta "Die Fledermaus" in Belgrade

Operetta Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, in the performance of the Faculty of Arts in Niš and the National Theatre in Niš appeared on the stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade on Monday, 28th April 2014, at 7:30 pm. The successful performing of the operetta audience has rewarded with the standing ovations and a long applause.

Master class course for guitar - Zoran Krajišnik, MA

The Faculty of Arts in Niš organized the intensive master class course for guitar (5 – 7th March, 2014), lectured by Zoran Krajišnik, a Full Professor at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. At the end of the master class course, the active participants performed at the final concert.

"Rotaract" club donation to the Faculty of arts in Niš

Faculty of Arts in Niš was given a piccolo flute as a donation of the Rotaract club from Niš. At the ceremony held on Thursday, March 26th 2014 at the Chamber hall of the Faculty, the President of the Rotaract Club Petar Pešić handed the piccolo flute to the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, prof. dr Suzana Kostić. At the ceremony Anđela Bratić, MA, Associate Professor, performed, as a premiere, two pieces for piccolo flute with the piano accompaniment of Spec.
