Solo exhibition of Sanja Dević, Assisstant Professor at Faculty of Arts in Niš, will be open on Monday, April 2nd, 2018, at 7 pm, at ULUPUDS Small Gallery in Belgrade. The exhibition will be opened for visitors until April 13th, 2018.

 

 “… An exhibition entitled KINDNESS MATTERS, by Sanja Dević, MA, a well-known graphic designer of this region, presents in the forefront the fundamental cultural determinant – kindness, that is, the consequences of its all over lack in communication and modern man’s relationships. In the era of self-love and ego-centric communication of a modern society that often rests on the domination or underestimating other, and the lack and exclusion of cultural patterns, the highlight of the theme of kindness is pointed to the current and very important one. The author unambiguously suggests that kindness does not function as someone’s current choice, but it is and should remain an essential lifestyle. Sanja Dević emphasized by this exhibition the role of the designer in the promotion of various acts and forms of kindness as an integrative force of the society. Through the visual communication of one of the most representative types of graphic design – the poster, the author has designed a cycle consisting of 14 powerful, easily visible messages that feature a fast memorizing and concise narration, suggestive directness of the message and recognizable aesthetics. The resulting series of simple life instructions and messages enters into direct dialogue with the observer by promoting gestures and components of human attention, altruism and kindness as co-operating factors of a healthy and happy society.
