SNEŽANA DRAMBAREAN

SNEŽANA DRAMBAREAN (1959) graduated from the Department of English at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš. She has worked at the Faculty of Arts since 2005. She spent a large part of her professional career working at the University of Niš as a Senior Associate for the Protocol (1986-2005) and since 1992 she has worked as a certified court interpreter for the English language under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia. During her working period at the University, she was a compiler and the author of several info publications about the University of Niš in Serbian and English (1992, 2000, 2003) as well as the monographes 30 years of the University of Niš (co-authored with Z. Pavlović, in 1995) and 10 years of the Music College in Niš (co-authored with Timošenko Milosavljević and  Milorad Veljković-Špaja, MA, in 1997). She has been a multiyear regular interpreter for a great number of professional and scientific journals (“The Proceedings of the National Museum of Niš”, “Facta Universitatis” – a scientific journal of the University of Niš, “Themes” – the magazine of the University of Niš for a social theory and practice, the Yugoslav sports magazine “Flex” etc.), as well as numerous catalogues, conference proceedings and other publications of the institutions in the field of culture and education. She is the author of a textbook of the English language Tune Up Your English for the students of music, as well as The English-Serbian dictionary of musical terms and expressions (co-authored with D. Drambarean) with 16,000 processed English phrases and terms in the field of music and over 18,000 semantic determinants in Serbian enriched with the appropriate explanations, mutual synonymic and info links. At one time, she was a participant in the summer school of the British Council (“Contemporary English: The use and practice” Swansea, Wales, UK) as a holder of the National Fund scholarship for the International scientific, educational, cultural and technical Cooperation, as well as a participation inb a large number of international seminars, especially in the field of Americanism (Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik, 1988-90), but also on the theme of the development and the promotion of Higher education (SEE HEAD-03, The development of administrative functions in the Higher Education of South-Eastern Europe, the University of Graz, Austria; The Higher education in Serbia on the road to Europe, Belgrade in 2004, etc.). She has been the participant in two Tempus projects.
