TRADITIONAL AESTHETIC CULTURE IX: SPACE

After examining the aesthetic dimension of the house (2005), everyday life and the holidays (2006), the body and clothing (2007), bread (2008), game (2009), eros (2010), the garden (2011), crafts (2013), within the project “The traditional aesthetic culture of Serbs”, the participants of the symposium will focus their attention on  the geographic, demographic, defensive-protective, economic, ie. production-trade-traffic, mythological-magical, religious, customary-ritual, symbolic-representational, historical, linguistic-toponymic, cultural-entertaining, urbanistic, aesthetic and artistic dimension of SPACE of human lodgement (rural, urban, rurban) – with the aim of researching of the function and the importance of physical arranging of the living world in particular traditions, and understanding the authentic or counterfeit sense of contemporary spatial planning or his feigning. This issue has also implications for understanding identity cultural matrix and their action in terms of the necessary technological globalization, desirable economic and legislative integration and cultural communication.
