Nikola Peković performed as a soloist with Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra

Nikola Peković, Assistant professor, performed as a soloist with Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra in front of the full hall of the Roman Catholic cathedral at the “Easter concert” on 25th April 2019 in Zrenjanin. They presented the work of Sofia Gubaidulina “Seven Words” for accordion, cello and string orchestra. The soloist on the cello was Nemanja Stanković and the orchestra was conducted by maestro Mikica Jevtić.

Participation of Katarina Djordjević, MA at the Symposium in Turkey

Katarina Djordjević, MA, full professor, participated in “2nd International Yoruk Life, Culture and Turkish Arts Symposium” in Antalya, Turkey, as an Artistic Council member. During the four-day event, 90 participants from 20 countries and 20 universities, presented papers, an exhibition of art and applied arts was organized, as well as artistic workshops. Prof. Djordjevic presented the paper on the topic: “The Interpretation of an Visual Tradition: “Rencounter” Drawings” and presented pictures on the theme of artistic heritage in the Kizikule Gallery. As an Artistic Council member, she participated in the selection of artists works from 10 countries. The Proceedings will be promoted on 20th May 2019 in the premises of the Cultural Center of Antalya.

Concert of Schola Cantorum Choir of the University in Arkansas in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom

The prestigious choir of Schola Cantorum of the University in Arkansas, USA, will perform in Niš within its international concert tour in Serbia. The concert with the Academic Choir of the Students Cultural Centre of the University in Niš, under the conductorship of Zoran Stanisavljević, MA, will be held on Thursday, 16th May 2019, at 8 pm in the Hall of University of Niš. The American Choir spent the spring semester studying Serbian Orthodox music, but also world and ethno music that will be their repertoire at the concert.

VII International Student Complementary Piano Competition

VII International Student Complementary Piano Competition will be held in Niš from 31st May to 2nd June 2019.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the motivation and affirmation of young artists, as well as to  encourage their personal creative potentials through performing.

Exhibition of students at the Gallery of the Center for Culture and Art Aleksinac

The exhibition of works by students from the Department of Applied Arts of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, entitled “SPATIAL GRAPHICS” will be opened at the Gallery of the Center for Culture and Art Aleksinac, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 19:00. Tijana Mitić as a participant in the exhibition “Pomeranje” in Montenegro

Tijana Mitić, a third-year student of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Applied Arts, is a participant in International poster exhibition “Shiftings” of the seventh edition of FLUID Design Forum in Cetinje, Montenegro, where young designers have presented their vision of the ever-accelerating world daily changes which reflect on our lives all aspects.

Lecture by prof. Jakša Zlatar in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom

Prof. Jakša Zlatar, full professor at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb, Croatia, will hold a lecture by invitation on the topic “The Foundations of Piano Teaching Methods” on Tuesday, 7th May 2019, at 11 am in Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjaževačka 2a. Within the lecture, he will present his publications “Piano Teaching Methods”, “Introduction to Piano Interpretation”, “Selected Chapters from Piano Teaching Methods”. The lecture is organized by the Faculty of Arts in Niš Center for lifelong learning.

II place to Miloš Vuković at International Guitar Festival in Sarajevo

Miloš Vuković, a guitar student in the class of Vesna Petković, MA, full professor, won II place in the two-tier competition of the International Guitar Festival in Sarajevo in the oldest category, held on 28th April 2019. Congratulations! Out of 16 competitors from Denmark, Switzerland, Canada, Serbia, China, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary, he competed in the competition finals, while he won II place with a score of 0.72 points behind the first-placed competitor from Denmark, in the finals of five finalists.
