Promotion of the author’s digital edition of “Diptych and Argentine Fantasy” by Jovan Bogosavljević under the patronage of SOKOJ, IKUS and MyRoom Acoustic Studio (Niš)

The digital edition “Diptych and Argentine Fantasy” is a selection of cyclical works by Jovan Bogosavljević that have achieved a notable performing and critical life on the domestic and international stage in the past few years.

The composition “Diptych”, a two-movement concerto with a cadenza in the first movement for two solo violins, was premiered in 2021 as part of a project of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, in collaboration with the Macedonian Chamber Orchestra “Profundis”, under the conductorship of Djurdjica Dašić. The work was then performed in 2022 with the Mostar Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Concertante na Kolarac chamber orchestra, under the conductorship of Maestro Milena Injac.

“Argentine Fantasy” is a work that was composed for the festival program of the international Ohrid Summer Festival, where it was premiered in 2023, also under the conductorship of Maestro Milena Injac. Critics assessed this performance as a “refreshment of Ohrid Summer”. The work was then performed as part of the Skopje Summer 2023 festival, as well as in RTS programs the same year.

These cyclical works by Jovan Bogosavljević are today among the most performed works of contemporary domestic authors, both in the country and in the region.

Very demanding scores, enriched with contemporary performance elements, were performed by an exceptional generation of students who, in addition to the concert stage, gained valuable experience in professional string music making through working in studio conditions. Recording in a professional studio together with their professors and established musicians, these young performers adopted new skills and standards that represent an important step towards their artistic and professional maturation.

The promotion of the digital edition will be held at the Faculty of Arts in Niš Concert and Exhibition Hall, Knjaževacka 2a, on 27th December 2025 at 7 p.m.

The artistic and educational program “Voices of Difference: Women, Stage, Resistance” will be held on 26th November 26 and 2nd December in Niš in cooperation with DAH Theatre – Center for Research on Culture and Social Change from Belgrade and the Center for Girls from Niš.

The joint project, through two performances and a round table, explores and thematizes the issues of women’s rights and freedoms, opens a space for reflection, expression and sharing of women’s experiences and struggles.

Starting from the idea that diversity is a form of resilience and strength, the project affirms women’s voices that come from different positions, identities and creative practices. Performing arts are used as a tool for collective reflection on women’s rights, gender equality, violence, corporeality, identity and solidarity. Through the meeting of the audience, artists and activists, the project builds a space for feminist exchange and shared insight.

With the joint project, DAH Theatre and the Girls’ Center want to connect the audience with feminist and anti-fascist themes through theatrical form and aims to empower women’s rights through creative expression and dialogue and create a space for mutual support and connection. Through creative practices, the project contributes to the advancement of human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The project “Voices of Difference: Women, Stage, Resistance” was supported within the framework of the “Cohesion Under Pressure” competition, as part of the Center for Cultural Decontamination project “Diversity as Perseverance: Creative Perspectives and Collective Insights”. Admission to all programs is free.
