Opening of Concert-Exhibition Season of the Faculty of Arts in Niš 2026

In the presence of a large audience, students and teaching staff – the Dean of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Prof. DMA Milena Injac, ceremoniously opened Concert – Exhibition Season 2026 on 18th March, at 7 pm, emphasizing the importance of continuous nurturing of artistic production and affirmation of young creators.

The festive program included performances by soprano Marija Djordjević and pianist Marija Dinov, whose performance marked the beginning of the new artistic season. At the same time, an exhibition of student works from the Department of Fine Arts and the Department of Applied Arts was opened, presenting current trends and creative achievements of young authors. The exhibition was organized in honor of the Day of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, which is celebrated this year on 23rd March.

Masterclasses by Professor Roman Vidashek and Ildiko Juhas at the Faculty of Arts in Niš

The Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš successfully implemented a program of masterclasses held by prominent Polish artists, maestro Roman Vidashek (clarinet) and Ildiko Juhas (flute) from Hungary.

During the one-day program, guests from Poland worked with clarinet and flute students, providing them with valuable artistic and pedagogical experience. Particularly noteworthy is the successful work of Professor Juhas with students in the classes of Prof. Andjela Danković and Prof. Jelena Jakovljević, as well as the inspiring approach of Maestro Vidashek to students in the class of Prof. Miloš Mijatović.

The piano collaboration during the program was provided by Milica Micić, MA, an expert associate at the Faculty of Arts.

The visit also featured the latest Sax Clinic SCV ligatures, while D’Addario Woodwinds USA supported the program by donating equipment for students.

This event represents an important contribution to the development of teaching, artistic training and international cooperation at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, as well as another successfully implemented project under the leadership of Prof. Miloš Mijatović.

Julija Tepavac, a student from the Department of Applied Arts, winner of the competition “We create art inspired by Italy”

After successful years of cooperation with faculties of art from our country and promoting talented young authors, the Italian brand Birra Moretti announced a public competition “We create art inspired by Italy” as part of its campaign in 2025, thus providing all adult authors with the opportunity to present their creative work. The most successful works that skillfully combine Italian tradition and art were presented at a joint exhibition in Belgrade at the end of 2025. First place, according to the assessment of the expert jury and based on the votes of the audience, as well as the award in the form of professional training in Italy, was won by Julija Tepavac, a student of master academic studies at the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Niš.

Participation of students from the Department of Applied Arts in the “Birra Moretti” brand’s “Creating Art Inspired by Italy” project

The Faculty of Arts in Niš also had its representatives in the project of the famous Italian brand Birra Moretti in 2025. The art competition for young artists “We create art inspired by Italy” was attended by Saša Branković and Luka Mitrović, fourth-year students of basic academic studies, and Vera Nikolić, a student of master studies from the Department of Applied Arts. After a several-day stay in Italy, 12 young talents from 4 art faculties in Serbia presented their works at a collective exhibition held in Belgrade (TC Galerija) at the end of 2025.This project celebrates artistic creativity inspired by Italy and the small joys of life.

Performance by Maria Ines with the Madeira Symphony Orchestra

Maria Ines Viera Ornelas, an OAS accordion student in the class of prof. MA Miljan Bjeletić, performed at the laureate concert held in Madeira (Portugal) on 7th February, with the “Classica” symphony orchestra under the direction of Taigo Oliveira. The concert featured the work – Concerto for Accordion and Orchestra “Classica”, by Polish author Mikołaj Majkusiak.
