Award-winning solo singing students from the Faculty of Arts in Niš at the international competition “Lav Mirski” in Osijek (Croatia)

At 14th International Singing Competition for Solo Singers “Lav Mirski” in Osijek, at the Academy of Arts and Culture of the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Croatia, from 8th  to 10th  May 2026, 3 first-year students of the UAS from the Department of Solo Singing of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, in the class of Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA prof.

Among 120 participants in the competition from Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and other countries, the performance of our students was notable and very significant. They presented themselves well and achieved the following results:

I PRIZE – Ksenija Stojiljković, soprano (II category, 93.00 points – the best among girls in the entire category);

II PRIZE – Iva Ilić, soprano (II category, 80.00 points);

I PRIZE – Sara Stojković, soprano (III category, 94.25 points);

I PRIZE – for the performance in VI category “Opera Ensembles”: Sara Stojković and Ksenija Stojiljković (92.00 points).

The piano accompaniment was by spec. Anita Stanković, piano associate at the Department of Solo Singing.

Guest lecture by illustrator Nina Bunjevac at the Faculty of Arts in Niš

On Friday, 8th May 2026, the Faculty of Arts will have the opportunity to host the renowned illustrator and comic book author Nina Bunjevac, who will give a guest lecture to students. The event will be held at 11 am, in the premises of the SKIP center in the city center, organized by the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš Center for Lifelong Learning.

The lecture will provide students with insight into her creative process, the development of visual narrative, and the position of contemporary comics in the international context.

 

Lecture and workshop on the topic “Music Therapy as a Contemporary Therapeutic Approach” at the Faculty of Arts in Niš

Ivana Ilić, master music therapist, will hold a lecture and workshop on the topic Music Therapy as a Contemporary Therapeutic Approach (in the context of working with the adult population), on Saturday, 30th May 2026, at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Kneginje Ljubice 10 str, in classroom no. 12, at 1:30 pm.

The workshop will be held in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts in Niš Center for Lifelong Learning.

The educational-experiential workshop is intended for students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, faculty staff and anyone interested in the application of music in a therapeutic, preventive and developmental context. The workshop combines a theoretical framework and practical experience, with an emphasis on personal experience and reflection.

Award-winning solo singing students at “Dr Miloje Milojević” competition in Kragujevac

 

The International Competition for Young Solo Singers “Dr Miloje Milojević”, held as part of the Vocal Arts Festival “Vocalization” in Kragujevac (24th–29th April 2026), was attended by students of the Department of Solo Singing of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš.

Students in the class of Katarina Simonović Ivanković, full prof, achieved the following results:

Luka Marković (tenor, IV category) – I/1 prize (95.33 points);

Sara Stojković (soprano, III category) – I/1 prize (99 points);

Ksenija Stojiljković (soprano, III category) – II/1 prize (93.33 points).

Piano accompaniment and support at the competition was provided by specialist Anita Stanković from the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
