Faculty of Arts at the Erasmus mixed intensive program “Tradition and Modernity – Digital Transformations” in Veliki Tarnovo  

 

The Faculty of Arts in Niš had the opportunity to participate in the mixed Erasmus intensive program “Tradition and Modernity – Digital Transformations” organized at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Veliko Tarnovo from 23th to 27th October 2023.

The Faculty team was made up of five students: Jana Novaković, Andrijana Jovanović, Danica Ćirić, Irena Tasić and Ksenija Stanković, led by Assoc. prof. Sanja Dević.

The project “Tradition and Modernity – Digital Transformations” aimed to create a bridge between tradition and modernity, revive classic craft techniques and transform them into a modern medium of expression.

In addition to the organizers, students and teachers from the Warsaw School of Information Technologies Warsaw from Poland, Polytechnic Institute Branco, Castelo Branco from Portugal and the Faculty of Arts in Kosovska Mitrovica of the University of Priština participated in the project.

The head of the project is Dr. Krasimira Borisova Drumeva. Workshop leaders: PhD Anastasija Tonkova, PhD Biljana Canova, PhD Radimira Jordanova, PhD Simeon Želev, PhD Velina Staleva and PhD Plamen Kondov.

In 2024, it is planned to present the works created at workshops, trainings, as well as after the training, in their own digital version of all authors. The exhibitions will be shown at all partner universities – Instituto Politecnico De Castelo Branco, Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, University of Priština in Kosovska Mitrovica and Warsaw School of Information Technologies.

 

Concert by Antonio Šarić, a young virtuoso violinist from Mostar, with the piano accompaniment of Mina Krasić as part of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Concert Season 2023/2024

Antonio Šarić, a virtuoso young violinist from Mostar, with the piano accompaniment of pianist Mina Krasić, will hold an all-evening concert in the Faculty of Arts in Niš Concert Hall on 6th November 2023, at 7 pm. The concert is realized as part of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Concert Season 2023/2024. The audience will be presented with works by Fjoril, Mendelssohn, Rhys, Krejma and Martinu. The third-year student of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Lazar Mutavdžić, will perform as a concert guest.

“Works on paper II” – the Faculty of Arts in Niš exhibition of teachers and associates in the “Rafael Mihailov” Gallery, University of “St. Cyril and St. Metodius” in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria

The exhibition “Works on Paper II” in the city Gallery “Rafael Mihailov” in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, includes 64 works on paper by 25 authors and represents a cross-section of the current creativity of the Department of Fine Arts teachers and the Department of Applied Arts teachers and associates.

This manifestation represents the continuation of the long-standing successful cooperation between the University of Niš, the Faculty of Arts in Niš and the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and St. Methodius”, Faculty of Fine Arts.

The exhibition was opened on 17th October 2023, in the presence of numerous guests, by prof. PhD Svetoslav Kosev, dean and prof. PhD Vladimir Avramov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Veliko Tarnovo. The introductory speech about the exhibition was given by prof. Katarina Djordjević, MA, vice dean for quality and international cooperation and Assoc. prof. Vladan Randjelović, MA, from the Faculty of Arts in Niš, University of Niš.

The public will be able to visit the exhibition until 29th October 2023.

Annual exhibition of works by the Faculty of Arts in Niš students

We invite you to the opening of the Annual Exhibition of works by the Faculty of Arts in Niš students, Departments of Fine and Applied Arts.

The exhibition will be opened on 8th June 2023, at locations:

Prvomajska 6 st, at noon; the Faculty of Electronics Hall at 2 pm; “Vožd Karadjordje” Elementary School, Vožda Karadjordja 29, at 2:30 pm, “Njegoš” Elementary School, Pantelejska 60, at 3 pm.

Participation of student Minja Milanović at 5th International Triennial of Graphics in Belgrade

The selection jury of 5th International Triennial of Graphics in Belgrade, consisting of Melissa Potter (USA), Ula Madsen (Denmark) and Biljana Vuković (Serbia), included the work of MA student of 2022/23 academic year, Minja Milanović into this year’s exhibition. The work “Composition IV” – screen print 100 x 70 cm, will be presented at the exhibition that will be opened on 14th October 2023 in Cvijeta Zuzorić Pavilion in Belgrade, at 7 p.m.

Full prof. Bojan Živić, full prof. Slobodan Radojković, full prof. Slavica Dragosavac, assist. prof. Maja Djurović and assistant Jovana Djordjević also take part in the exhibition.

Exhibition of teachers and associates of the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Pedagogical Studies and Arts, Sofia University “St. Kliment of Ochrid” from Bulgaria

The exhibition “Verticals and Horizontals” of teachers and associates of Sofia University “St. Kliment of Ochrid”, Faculty of Pedagogical Studies and Arts, Department of Visual Arts will be opened on 9th June 2023 at 6 pm, in the University of Niš, University Library “Nikola Tesla” Gallery as part of the program of events marking the University of Niš Day.

The exhibition examines the issue of verticals and horizontals in the context of ancient symbols that we associate with the spiritual (vertical) and material (horizontal). Through the interaction of these directions, unity and wholeness, harmony and balance in the world are achieved. This framework is not restrictive, so all exhibitors were given the opportunity to express their individual interpretation and interpretation of the relationship between the two dominant and contrasting directions – vertical and horizontal.

Exhibition “Graphic design – visualization of ideas” and presentation “graphic design software and its use for creating visual images and messages” by assist. prof. PhD Javor Grančarov, from the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Pedagogical Studies and Arts, Sofia University “St. Kliment of Ochrid” from Bulgaria

With the exhibition “Graphic Design – Visualization of Ideas” by assist. prof. PhD Javor Grančarov, teacher of the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Pedagogical Studies and Arts, Sofia University “St. Kliment of Ochrid” from Bulgaria, will present a series of works in the field of graphic design. The exhibition will be opened on 9th June 2023 at 11:30 am in the Faculty of Arts in Niš Hall no 12.

The author will hold a lecture and presentation on the topic “Graphic design software and its use in creating of visual images and messages”. The lecture is aimed at examining creative processes in the creation of digital works, in accordance with modern achievements in the field of applied arts and design, with an emphasis on graphic design. Special attention is paid to the role of digital technologies and modern software for graphic design, modern technologies and tools for the preparation of artistic work of different styles, creativity and individual approach to creating digital works. The need to combine traditional and digital art is emphasized, with the selection of adequate software, graphic files, formatting and printing, in order to achieve the best results.

The lecture “Software for graphic design and its use in creating visual images and messages” will be held on 9th June 2023 at noon, in the Faculty of Arts in Niš Hall no 12.

Exhibition of the Faculty of Arts students within the course Evening Act in Skopje

On Tuesday, 20th June 2023, an exhibition of the Faculty of Arts in Niš students within the course Evening Act under the mentorship of Vladan Randjelović was opened in Skopje, organized by the City Association of Art Educators pedagogues in Skopje and the municipality of Butel. The exhibition was opened by full professor of the Faculty of Education, Dančo Ordev.

The works were exhibited by students of II, III and IV years of the Fine and Applied arts Department.

At the exhibition, 24 students presented themselves with a dozen works of small and medium format.

Master students Aleksandra Stojanović and Natalija Stamenković presented the Faculty of Arts in Niš at Collective Exhibition of Students in Belgrade

Association “Kornjača” as part of its project, with the support of newly graduated students, organizes the fifth in a row “Annual exhibition of art students”.

In the Kornjača gallery in Belgrade, on Friday, 1st September 2023, at 7 pm, the “Collective exhibition of students: Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade and Faculty of Arts in Niš” was opened.

The representatives of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, master students Aleksandra Stojanović and Natalija Stamenković, presented respectively each of their works at this event.

The exhibition is open to all visitors until 18th September.

“Small format” 2023 – Exhibition of student works

As part of the celebration of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Day, the Department of Fine Arts, together with the Faculty, realizes the exhibition of student works “Small format” with the aim of establishing continuous exhibition practice and cooperation with Faculties/Academies of Arts, cultural institutions, colleagues and students.

The exhibition of student works “Small format” emphasizes the importance of drawing technique and works that go out with line into the field of expanded possibilities. It includes both classical drawing techniques, as well as exploratory experimental works of small format that expand the expressive possibilities of drawings on paper, objects, installations, animations, video works…

Five faculties responded to the invitation to participate in this event: the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, the Faculty of Applied Arts Belgrade, the Faculty of Fine Arts Belgrade, the Philology and Arts Faculty of the University of Kragujevac and the host Faculty of Arts in Niš.

The exhibition includes over 160 student exhibitors and about forty mentor professors. Over 250 works on paper, a dozen video works/animations and about 20 objects/sculptures will be shown to the Niš audience.

The exhibition is shown in two locations, in two exhibition spaces.

The exhibition opening of the in the National Museum of Niš, in the Sinagoga Gallery, Davidova 2 st, is on Tuesday, 3rd October at 5 pm, with a musical performance by Aleksa Spasić, a fourth-year student of undergraduate academic studies, mentor. prof. Jovan Bogosavljević, MA, who will perform Paganini: Caprice no 17.

The exhibition opening at NKC Gallery, Bul. Dr. Zorana Djindjić, 37, is also on Tuesday, 3rd October at 7 pm, with a musical performance by Damir Blagojević, master student, mentor: full prof. Miloš Janjić, who will perform: Dušan Bogdanović, Six Balkan miniatures.

As part of the “Small Format 2023” project/exhibition, the following programs will be implemented in the Synagogue Gallery:

– 11th October 2023, lecture: DA Dragana Stevanović, Academy of Arts in Novi Sad,

– “Unseen drawing” workshop: the workshop author: PhD Andjela Mujčić, Faculty of Arts Zvečan – Kosovska Mitrovica in cooperation with: DA Nikola Marković, Faculty of Arts, Niš.

– concerts by students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Musical Arts under the mentorship of regular professors Jovan Bogosavljević, Miloš Janjić and Aleksandar Jakovljević:

      15th October at noon, Mihajlo Konatar-guitar and Damir Blagojević-guitar, in the class of prof. Miloš Janjić.

      On 25th October, Aleksa Spasić, violin I, Tijana Filipović, violin II, Andjela Dugonjić, viola and Nenad Ilić, double bass, mentor: Aleksandar Jakovljević.

The exhibition for all visitors, in National Museum of Niš, Synagogue Gallery, is open until 29th October, and in NKC Gallery it is open until 10th October.
