III and IV year Music Theory students on an “Excursion to Bejing Opera”

Students of III and IV year of Music Theory study program at the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Musical Art visited the International Bejing Opera Poster Biennial. This specific type of opera is known as a combination of music (written for a vocal-instrumental ensemble), mime, dance and martial arts, and is imbued with folklore elements of the Chinese area and numerous symbols.

The students were led to the exhibition, which was staged in the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Art Ni[, in Officers’ Home of Ni[. Ana Kazimić, assistant professor of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, as part of tutorials within the course Vocal Literature on 18th and 19th March. Previously, during classes, students were introduced to the characteristics of this type of opera with “illustrations” of the matter through audio- visual examples.

Award to Andjela Antić at “Primavera” International Festival in Bijeljina

At VIII International Festival in Bijeljina, Andjela Antić, solo-singing student of master academic studies, in the class of prof. Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA, full professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, won II prize in the solo-singing discipline, category IV-a (young men and women up to 32 years of age). The contestants were evaluated by an eminent jury made up of professors from the faculties of Belgrade, Banja Luka and Zagreb.

Prof. Miloš Mijatović with students at ERASMUS+ project of the University of Bari, Italy

Miloš Mijatović, full professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš and students Nikola Tomić MAS, Borisav Stanić, MAS and Andrija Jašarević UAS, were guests at “Niccolo Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari (Italy) at the largest international project for clarinetists ERASMUS+ under the name “International Clarinet Ensemble – Music Beyond Borders” in which they participated with professors and students from Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy. The program of the gala concert premiered the works of J. Van Rost, H. Mertens, W. Farina, J. Linkola, A. Grgin, M. Wind, V. Bequiri, A. Englese.
