Prof. Miloš Mijatović with students at ERASMUS+ project of the University of Bari, Italy

Miloš Mijatović, full professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš and students Nikola Tomić MAS, Borisav Stanić, MAS and Andrija Jašarević UAS, were guests at “Niccolo Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari (Italy) at the largest international project for clarinetists ERASMUS+ under the name “International Clarinet Ensemble – Music Beyond Borders” in which they participated with professors and students from Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy. The program of the gala concert premiered the works of J. Van Rost, H. Mertens, W. Farina, J. Linkola, A. Grgin, M. Wind, V. Bequiri, A. Englese.

First prize to the Faculty of Arts in Niš students at V International Chamber Music Competition “Olivera Djurdjević” in Belgrade

Another I prize went to the first-year UAS students, in the class of full prof. Ana Veličković Igić.

The trio consisting of Jovana Blagojević – flute, Ilija Jovanović – cello and Vasilije Glavašević – piano competed in V category at V International Chamber Music Competition “Olivera Djurdjević” in Belgrade. The ensemble “Musique per trois” achieved this significant result as the youngest in its category.

The Faculty of Arts in Niš is the laureate of the St. Sava Award for 2023

On Saturday, 27th January 2024, on St. Sava’s Day,  St. Sava Award for 2023 was handed in to the Faculty of Arts in Niš. This important republican award was presented to the awarded individuals and representatives of institutions at the reception held on the occasion in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, by the Minister of Education, prof. dr Slavica Djukić Dejanović. The award for the Faculty of Arts was received by Dean, prof. DMA Milena Injac. On that occasion, the minister emphasized the exceptional contribution of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš in the development of artistic higher education in the Republic of Serbia. The laureates of St. Sava Awards were presented to dignitaries and a wide television audience in the live broadcast of the ceremonial academy held the same evening in the MTS Hall in Belgrade, entitled “In the Spirit of Saint Sava”. Last year, the Faculty of Arts in Niš was the laureate of the prestigious award “Svetislav Milić” for the outstanding results achieved in the engagement of its students in the field of culture and art, as well as for the popularization of art through exhibitions, concerts, operas and other activities. This proves that the St. Sava award continues a series of recognitions by the academic public for the dedicated work of the management, teachers, associates and students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, who unfortunately, besides two decades of existence, still do not have an adequate space and work in several different locations in the city.

The success of the Department of Applied Arts students at the award competition for the poster of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut”

At the award competition for the conceptual design of the poster, which is traditionally announced by the Health Promotion Center of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr. Milan Jovanović Batut”, students of the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Arts in Niš, won four accompanying awards and five selections for participation in the collective exhibition. Accompanying awards were won by third-year students: Tamara Jocić, Isidora Očaj and Katarina Radujevčanović, as well as master student Danica Ćirić. In addition to the award-winning posters, the exhibition will also feature the works of Lea Tomić and Djordje Marković, third-year students, Anja Janković and Anja Naumović, fourth-year students, as well as the work of Irena Tasić, a master student. Over 90 students participated in this year’s competition, intended for students of artistic higher education institutions of the Republic of Serbia, who responded to the topic of health promotion and healthy lifestyles.

Exhibition of works by the Department of Applied Arts students in NKC Gallery

Exhibition of student works entitled STOP! will be opened in Niš Cultural Center Gallery on Thursday, 28th December at 6 pm

In 3rd-year basic academic studies at the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, students of Graphic Design in the Graphic Communication course deal with the stylization of form in the service of visual transmission of messages about poaching, exploitation of animals and the destruction of their environment by humans. Mutual studious activity and commitment of students and their mentors Assoc. prof. Anita Milić and Assist. DA Miljana Radenković, are reflected in the works presented at the exhibition with the symbolic name STOP!, the third in a row, organized in cooperation with Niš Cultural Center Gallery.
Participants in the exhibition: Andrijana Jovanović, Danica Ćirić, Dušan Djordjević, Djordje Marković, Ilija Dinčić, Ilija Samac, Irena Tasić, Isidora Očaj, Jana Novaković, Katarina Radujevčanović, Ksenija Stanković, Lea Tomić, Luka Mitrović, Marko Cukavac, Mina Janković, Nadja Stanisavljević, Nevena Ristić, Saša Branković, Tamara Jocić.
Through creative and thoughtful placement of socially engaged messages, students demonstrate their talent, individuality and skills, which confirm their readiness to solve complex graphic design tasks. All awarded and selected posters will be printed for the purpose of organizing exhibitions and creating health education materials. The time and place of the exhibition will be announced later.
