The exhibition of works by the Department of Applied Arts students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš entitled “Motivational quotes” will be opened in the Niš Cultural Center Gallery on 26^th December 2022 at 5 p.m.

It has been proven that the best motivational slogans create emotions in the consumer society, and supported by visuals in commercials and advertising, remain in the user’s memory for a long time. For this reason, the third-year students of undergraduate academic studies at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Department of Applied Arts, deal with this issue through an assignment in the Graphic Communication course. Mutual studious activity and dedication in the work of students and their mentors Anita Milić and Miljana Radenković are reflected in the presentations shown at the exhibition “Motivational quotes”.

Twenty-two students: Andrijana Jovanović, Danica Ćirić, Elena Denda, Ilija Samac, Irena Tasić, Jana Novaković, Ksenija Stanković, Marija Milosavljević, Marko Cukavac, Nadja Stanisavljević, Nevena Ristić, Ana Mitrović, Anja Janković, Anja Naumović, Danica Stojanović, Lana Jovanović, Marija Tatić, Mateja Milošević, Mihailo Ećim, Petar Pejić, Sara Bogdanović and Vera Nikolić show their talent, insight, creative thinking and support their readiness to solve highly functional tasks of contemporary design practice.

“A FEST” in Novi Sad hosted students from, as well as around the country, in Novi Sad, during 23^rd November – 30^th December 2022.

The Faculty of Arts in Niš was represented by Lazar Mutavdžić, a second-year violin student in the class of prof. Marija Rajković, with the piano acompaniment of Senka Simonović, DA and Drago Garić, a student of master academic studies in Accordion in the class of prof. Nikola Peković.

At 24^th International Competition of Solo Singers “Nikola Cvejić” in Ruma during 2^th – 3^th December 2022, the Faculty of Arts in Niš students participated in four categories.

Andjela Mladenović, III category, III prize (76 points).

At IX International Competition of Solo Singers “Vera Kovač Vitkai”, which took place at “Isidor Bajić” Music School in Novi Sad during 12^th – 13^th December 2022, the third-year student of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Nikola Stamenković, in the class of Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA, Assoc. prof, won I prize (97.5 points) in II category and the special prize of the jury.

Mihailo Dašić, a master graduate guitar student in the class of prof. MA Vesna Petković, held a solo concert at the Faculty of Arts in Niš hall no. 6, on 17^th December 2022.

The Faculty of Arts in Niš participated in I creativity festival of art faculties students of Serbia “Tricycle”, held at the Faculty of Arts in Zvečan of the University of Priština (with temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica), under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. Students, professors and guests of the festival had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the Faculty of Arts in Niš professors. During the festival opening day, on 8^th December, the guest was prof. Zoran Ilić who performed a calligraphy performance with the piano accompaniment of Petar Ilić, the Faculty of Arts in Zvečan professor. During the second festival day, on 9^th December, a piano music workshop was held by prof. Jovanka Arandjelović, MA. On the same day, the first day of the Creative mania workshop was held, with prof. Anita Milić and assistant DA Miljana Radenković in the graphic design studio, as well as the Mixed media workshop, which was designed and realized by prof. Andjela Mujičić from the Faculty of Arts in Zvečan, in cooperation with prof. Miroslav Živković, MA. The second day of the Creative mania and Mixed media workshops was successfully completed, and the workshops works were exhibited the following day at the festival closing.

At X “Serbian Solo Song” competition, which was held on 19^th and 20^th November 2022 in Mladenovac, the Faculty of Arts in Niš students participated in the fourth and fifth categories.

Three students of the Department of Solo Singing in the class of Saša Arsenkov, MA, Assistant prof, won the following awards:

Pavle Arandjelović, 2^nd year student, won 1^st prize in IV category (94 points),

Katarina Mihailović, 4^th year student, won 3^rd prize in V category (96.66 points),

Jelena Todorović, 4^th year student, won 5^th prize in V category (91.66 points).

Student from the class of Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA, Associate prof.:

Anđela Antić, 4^th year student, won 2^nd prize in V category (85 points).

The humanitarian organization “Find Raul” awarded the Faculty of Arts with the institution of the year Award in competition from over 130 applicants for this prestigious award. Among the winners throughout Serbia is the patriarch Mr. Porfirije. The awards were distributed at the National Theater in Niš at the Academy ceremony on Tuesday, 15^th November 2022 in the presence of numerous visitors, state and city officials and media representatives. In front of the Faculty, with an appropriate speech, the award was received by the Faculty dean, prof. DMA Milena Injac. The Faculty was represented by the vice dean, prof. Miroslav Živković, MA, prof. MA Miloš Janjić, Head of the Department of Musical Arts and students of the Department of Applied Arts – Minja Djordjević, Jovana Milojević, Sara Stojanović and Marta Pejčić, as well as students of the Department of Musical Arts – Aleksa Spasić, student vice dean and Milana Trujanović. The Faculty of Arts students, Drago Garić, vice-champion of the Accordionist World Cup, in the class of prof. Nikola Peković and a guitar trio consisting of Melanija Stanković, Jana Djokić, Aleksandar Krstić, in the class of prof. Bratislav Zlatković, performed during the ceremony.

Декану Факултета уметности уручена награда “Светислав Милић – младима од срца” за институцију године

The awarding committee for the Award “Svetislav Milić – to young people from the heart” made an unanimous decision that the award in the field of institutions of the year will be shared by – Čačak Talent Center and the Faculty of Arts in Niš. According to the commission’s decision, special awards were distributed to – Kristina Vasić, a young saxophonist from Paraćin, who being 10 years old has achieved something that many do not achieve in a lifetime, Mladen Mitrović, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Tourism Studies in Portorož, and Sandra Veljković – a doctoral student at the Faculty of Electronics, University of Belgrade. Dr Marija Mijajlović from Kuršumlija received the Medal of Humanity. By decision of the board of directors of H.O. “Find Raul”, the Plaque of Peace is awarded to Stefan Jović, a celebrated basketball player and to Elementary and High schools “Creative Pen” from Belgrade.

The Faculty of Arts, as a partner of the “Hammer Piano” festival, received the Commendation for participating in founding and implementation of the first edition of this international festival, organized on the initiative of the Faculty of Arts Assistant, Stefan Sretić, DMA and with the participation of distinguished pianists from the country and abroad. The Commendation was received by Prof. DMA Milena Injac, the Faculty Dean.
