Accordion students, Danilo Mitić and Drago Garić, in the class of Nikola Peković, Assistant professor, won seven I prizes at six international competitions in Serbia, Bulgaria and Croatia. Congratulations!

Katarina Djordjević, MA, full professor participated in “6^th International Turkish Culture and Introduction of Art Symposium and Workshop” in Tbilisi, Georgia as a member of the Artistic Council. During the eight-day symposium, scientific and theoretical works were presented, an exhibition of works of art in the category of painting, drawing, graphics and sculptures was organized, and art workshops of traditional art crafts were held. The symposium sponsors and organizers were Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University and the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

Nikola Peković, Assistant professor, performed as a soloist with Zrenjanin Chamber Orchestra in front of the full hall of the Roman Catholic cathedral at the “Easter concert” on 25^th April 2019 in Zrenjanin. They presented the work of Sofia Gubaidulina “Seven Words” for accordion, cello and string orchestra. The soloist on the cello was Nemanja Stanković and the orchestra was conducted by maestro Mikica Jevtić.

Katarina Djordjević, MA, full professor, participated in “2^nd International Yoruk Life, Culture and Turkish Arts Symposium” in Antalya, Turkey, as an Artistic Council member. During the four-day event, 90 participants from 20 countries and 20 universities, presented papers, an exhibition of art and applied arts was organized, as well as artistic workshops. Prof. Djordjevic presented the paper on the topic: “The Interpretation of an Visual Tradition: “Rencounter” Drawings” and presented pictures on the theme of artistic heritage in the Kizikule Gallery. As an Artistic Council member, she participated in the selection of artists works from 10 countries. The Proceedings will be promoted on 20^th May 2019 in the premises of the Cultural Center of Antalya.

The prestigious choir of Schola Cantorum of the University in Arkansas, USA, will perform in Niš within its international concert tour in Serbia. The concert with the Academic Choir of the Students Cultural Centre of the University in Niš, under the conductorship of Zoran Stanisavljević, MA, will be held on Thursday, 16^th May 2019, at 8 pm in the Hall of University of Niš. The American Choir spent the spring semester studying Serbian Orthodox music, but also world and ethno music that will be their repertoire at the concert.

Pianist Andrej Cincarević will hold a resital on Tuesday, 14^th May 2019, at 8 pm in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom. Pianist prof. Maja Rajković, PhD, will perform as a concert guest.

VII International Student Complementary Piano Competition will be held in Niš from 31^st May to 2^nd June 2019.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the motivation and affirmation of young artists, as well as to  encourage their personal creative potentials through performing.

The exhibition of works by students from the Department of Applied Arts of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, entitled “SPATIAL GRAPHICS” will be opened at the Gallery of the Center for Culture and Art Aleksinac, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 19:00. Exhibited works were realized within the above mentioned course. Mentor: doc. Sanja Dević, Assistant professor, assistant: Jefimija Kocić, MAS.

The presentation of the project of the Center for the Promotion of Science and 12 European partners “European Artificial Intelligence Laboratory – AI Lab” and the second call will be held on Monday, 13^th May 2019, at 3 pm in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom.

Tijana Mitić, a third-year student of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Applied Arts, is a participant in International poster exhibition “Shiftings” of the seventh edition of FLUID Design Forum in Cetinje, Montenegro, where young designers have presented their vision of the ever-accelerating world daily changes which reflect on our lives all aspects.
