The lecture by prof. Branka Parlić, a pianist from Novi Sad and projection of film Entr’acte entitled “Cinema – the beginning of film music” was held on Thursday 26th February 2015, at 1 pm at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the hall no. 6. The theme of the lecture was the first soundtrack in the silent era, which was composed in 1924 by Erik Satie (1866-1925) for the film Entr’acte / Interlude.

The National Theatre in Niš, Niš Symphony Orchestra and the Faculty of Arts in Niš, have jointly prepared another opera at the National Theatre stage. The premiere of the opera “The Barber of Seville” was held on Monday 23th February at the National Theatre. The premiere was also attended by opera champions of Novi Sad and Belgrade Opera, as well as the conductor Darinka Matić Marović. The conductor is Milena Injac, director Ivan Vuković, while the project author is Suzana Kostić, PhD. Faculty of Arts in Niš organized from 3rd to 5th February 2015 an intensive master class course for clarinet, by Aleksandar Tasić, a full professor of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Accompanist: Milica Micić, senior artistic associate of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. At the end of the master class course, the active participants performed at the final concert. Apart from the master class course, professor Tasić held an interactive lecture on “The right choice of reed, techniques for finishing. Plastic reed, for and against!?”

On 3rd December 2014 Faculty of Arts in Niš celebrated the 12th Anniversary. On this occasion, series of manifestations were organized.

The promotion of the publication, within the edition of handbooks, written by the author Slobodan Kodela, PhD, entitled Traditional singing of Niš and Leskovac region in teaching Music was held on Friday, 28th November 2014 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Hall no. 6. At yet another promotion of the printed edition published by the Faculty of Arts in Niš, the reviewers Dimitrije Golemović, PhD, and Tomislav Bratic, MA, the author of the handbook, Slobodan Kodela, PhD, and the editor Dragan Tomić, MA, were speaking.

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized an intensive master class course for Accordion from 24th to 29th November 2014, held by Yuri Shishkin, a full professor of the Conservatory Seregei Rachmaninov in Rostov. Prof. Yuri Shishkin was officially received by the Rector of the University of Niš, prof. dr Dragan Antić, on 25th November 2014. The theme of the meeting was a possible cooperation between the two universities in joint artistic fields, and the occasion was a solo concert which this eminent Russian artist, one of the world’s biggest artists in the field of diatonic accordion, held on Wednesday 26th November, in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom.

The lecture, due to the invitation, held by Gordana Karan, PhD, the full professor of the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, on the theme “The timbre determination of auditory perception” was held on November 14th 2014, at 11 am at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, room no. 12.

The Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the period 10th-12th November, 2014, organized the intensive Master class course for solo singing, held by Radmila Bakočević, the professor emeritus of the University in Kragujevac. In the organization of the University in Niš, the Faculty of Arts and the Center for the scientific research SANU, the lectures of the eminent professors and artists from the Netherlands were presented. For the first time in Serbia, all the interested people were able to attend the lectures of one of the most influential people in music life of all the developed countries, Frans de Ruiter, and the world’s expert in the field of solo singing and music-therapy, Manon Heijne.

The lectures of the composers Serhio Roberto de Oliveira from Brazil, Brian Martinez from Spain and Dragan Tomić from Serbia were held on Monday, 3rd November, 2014, in the hall no.12. The composers spoke of their music pieces performed at the 40th NIMUS (Niš Music Festival), as well as of their recent music opus.
