Celebrating 13 years of existence and work of the Faculty of Arts in Niš

On 3rd December 2015, the Faculty of Arts in Niš celebrated its 13-year anniversary. Exhibition of teachers and associates of the Faculty of Arts "Postmodern stories" in Sofia

Exhibition of teachers and associates of the Faculty of Arts in Niš "Postmodern stories" was held at the Gallery ALMA MATER, the University of St. Kliment Ohridski in Sofia (Bulgaria) from 19th to 30th October 2015. "Postmodern Stories" is a project with international participation, combining research and creative activities. The idea is that in the course of the project participants are studying changes that occur in the mind of "postmodern man" in the perception of traditional actions, values, beliefs, attitudes, presenting summaries of the results in a written form. Every artist creates works within the concept, in which the traditional stories and myths are interpreted in the context of modern life.

The project "Anniversaries of Serbian giants of art"

2015 is the year that marks the 150 years of the death of composer, conductor and pedagogue Kornelije Stanković, 100 years since the death of musical artist Isidor Bajić and 100 years since the death of visual artist Nadežda Petrović. On that occasion, the Faculty of Arts in Niš has united different artistic and scientific activities: Concert with the program of compositions of Isidor Bajić and Kornelije Stanković performed by professors and students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, as well as the virtual exhibition "Read about Nadežda Petrović" which was prepared, presented and exhibited by Olivera Nastić and Katarina Krstić from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. The exhibition part which includes documents, manuscripts, publications and all other supporting documents that are of informative and educational character about artists. The scientific part was presented in a discussion forum, which best represents the artistic and educational contribution of artists in the country and abroad. The discussion forum by his character brought together scientific and professional staff from the country and presented papers certainly provide outstanding contribution to the preservation of the personality and work of the artists. The final activity is the production of this monograph study that accompanies each realized activity presenting it to the readers from a scientific, professional, artistic and also catalogue form. Organization and realization of the project is one of the most effective ways to fight for the preservation and protection of Serbian culture, but also a kind of respect for Serbian artistic tradition. The Faculty of Arts achieved implementation of this project with the cooperation and partnership of centers for research SASA and University of Niš, Gallery of the University of Niš and University Library "Nikola Tesla" in Niš. Collaborators on the project include Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Gallery "Nadežda Petrović", Čačak, Novi Sad City Museum, Gallery of Contemporary Art in Niš, Niš National Museum - Gallery Synagogue.

Promotion of editions of the Faculty of Arts in Niš at the 60th International Belgrade Book Fair

Promotions of editions of the Faculty of Arts in Niš at the 60th International Belgrade Book Fair was held on Thursday, 29th October 2015. Printed publications and discography editions were exhibited at the stand of the Centre for the Science Promotion (Hall 2, Level A).

Promotion of publications of the Faculty of Arts in Niš - Monographs and Proceedings

Promotion of publications of the Faculty of Arts in Niš was held on Saturday, 10th October 2015 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš in the Hall no. 6. The following publications were presented at the promotion: Proceedings of the Scientific forum BARTF 2014 - "Art and culture today: Spirit of time and problems of interpretation", the monograph by Sonja Cvetković - "Musical practice in Niš from the end of 19th century to the beginning of the Second World War - ideological, cultural and artistic context" and the monograph by Danijela Zdravić Mihailović - "The phenomenon of reprise in sonata form - the first movements of string quartets by Franz Joseph Haydn". At the promotion, the editors of the publication Danijela Stojanović and Danijela Zdravić Mihailović spoke about the Proceedings, prof. dr Sonja Marinković and prof. dr Slobodan Kodela spoke about the monograph by dr Sonja Cvetković, while the monograph by Danijela Zdravić Mihailović, MA was presented by prof. dr Sonja Marinković and dr Ivana Medić.

BARTF 2015.

III National scientific conference with international participation – Balkan Art Forum Niš 2015 was held on 9th and 10th October 2015 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. The opening ceremony was held in the Great Hall of the University of Niš on 9th October 2014. The theme of III scientific forum BARTF 2015 was: ART AND CULTURE TODAY: CRISIS IN ART - ART IN CRISIS. Within the artistic program of this year's Forum, the following composers have presented their creativity opus - Gregory Mertl (New Milford, USA) and Dragan Tomić (Niš, Serbia). The intensive master class for clarinet - Aleksandar Tasić and Miloš Mijatović

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized an intensive Master Class for clarinet from 17th to 23rd September 2015 by Aleksandar Tasić, full professor of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and spec. Miloš Mijatović, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Arts in Niš.

Events of the Faculty of Arts on the occasion of 50-year jubilee of the University of Niš

The University of Niš marks an important jubilee in 2015 - half a century of a successful educational, scientific and artistic work. On this occasion, the Faculty of Arts in Niš organized a series of events to mark five decades of the existence of the University.

Annual exhibition of students, works of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, 2015

The annual exhibition of students, works from the Department of Visual and Applied Arts Departments was opened at 5th June 2015, in the premises of the Department of Visual Arts as well as in primary school Vožd Karađorđe, in the premises of the Department of Applied Arts and the Concert Showroom. The exhibition lasted until 19th June 2015.

Signing a protocol of cooperation between Faculty of Arts in Niš and the City of Niš Administration of Culture

On Wednesday, 20th May 2015, in the premises of Media Center in Niš, a protocol of cooperation between Faculty of Arts in Niš and the City of Niš Administration of Culture with the aim of promoting the cultural identity of the Faculty and the City of Niš, as well as their common values in the field of culture. On behalf of the Faculty, the Protocol was signed by prof. dr Suzana Kostić, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and on behalf of the Administration of Culture the Protocol was signed by Nebojša Stevanović, Head of the Administration of Culture. The cooperation between Faculty of Arts and Administration of Culture has been established with the aim of exchanging professional experiences, doing students, practice, as well as establishing cooperation in the field of teaching process and scientific-research activity through the realization of joint projects for which both parties express their interests.

Exhibition "Juan Rulfo in the artists, books of Parchment Concertino, 2015" by Leposava Sibinović Milošević Lepa

The official opening of the exhibition of Author project of international cultural cooperation Parchment Serbia - Juan Rulfo in the artists, books of Parchment Concertino, 2015 by Leposava Milošević Sibinović Lepa, MA, was held on Thursday, 14th May 2015, at 6 pm, in the University Gallery - University Library "Nikola Tesla". The exhibition, supported by the Embassy of Mexico in Serbia, runs until 30 May 2015. This is yet another in a series of events organized by the Faculty of Arts in Niš on the occasion of a significant jubilee- fifty years of existence of the University of Niš. Exhibition of caricatures by Marko Stajić at Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom

The opening of the exhibition of caricatures by Marko Stajić was held on Monday 4th May 2015 at 7 pm in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjaževačka 2a. The exhibition lasted until 13th May 2015 and 30 caricatures were exposed. The exhibition is realized within the Competition for individual, author and group exhibitions and artistic projects in 2014-2015 in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, which was announced by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš. The right to apply had all the fine and visual artists who have completed their studies at some faculty of arts in the country and abroad. Exhibition of the awarded students of the Department of Visual Arts 2008 - 2014

The opening of the exhibition of the awarded students of the Department of Fine Arts of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, 2008 – 2014, was held on Thursday 23rd April 2015, at 6 pm in the Gallery of the University Library "Nikola Tesla", quay of Mika Paligorić. The exhibition of awarded students includes works of 19 authors awarded in three categories: the award for the best drawing, the award for the best picture and the award for totally achieved artistic results awarded by the Awards Committee of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Master class for piano - Ilia Tchernaev, PhD

The faculty of Arts in Niš organized the intensive master class course for piano (23rd - 25th April, 2015) lectured by Ilia Tchernaev, PhD, the associate professor of the National Music Academy Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia. At the end of the master class course, the active participants performed at the final concert.

Promotion of Faculty of Arts publication- "Mosaics of Niš" by Jadranka Mišić Pejović

The promotion of publication from the series of monographs by the author Jadranka Mišić Pejović, entitled Mosaics of Niš was held on Thursday 16th April 2015 at the University of Niš Great Hall. At the promotion of this major work, published by the Faculty of Arts in Niš spoke the reviewers Srđan Marković, PhD, Slobodan Kaljtez, MA and Desimir Denić, MA and the author Jadranka Mišić Pejović.

Exhibition "Spatial graphics and illustration"

On Friday, 17th April 2015 in the gallery of Niš Cultural Center, an exhibition of students, works of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Applied Arts. The students, works in this exhibition were realized within the subject course Spatial graphics and illustrations, by prof. Slobodan Jelesijević and professional associate Sanja Dević.

Multimedia exhibition on the theme "The position of disabled people"

The exhibition of works by the Faculty of Arts in Niš students from the Department of Applied Arts, entitled "The position of disabled people" and an exhibition of photographs by Saša Đorđević titled "Heroes" was held on Saturday, 4th April 2015 at the Republic Square in Niš. The exhibition was organized by the citizens, organization "Action and help" from Nis with the support of the organization "Handicap International" on the occasion of the International Mine Action Day, which is celebrated on 4th April. On this occasion, three student works were awarded: I prize - Miljan Ristić, master student, II prize: Ninoslava Girić, master student, III prize: Miloš Nikolić, a fourth year student of undergraduate studies. Students, works are realized within the subject course Graphic Communications, by prof. Anita Milić and assist. Miljana Radenković.

Days of String Musicians, 2015

Within the days of string musicians, on 1st and 2nd April 2015, there were lectures of the representatives of the company for the production of string instruments "Thomastik Infeld" and the famous luthier Andrian Andreev from Bulgaria. Students and professors of the Faculty of Arts in Niš had the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements in the production process of strings and string instruments.

Promotion of Faculty of Arts publication - Vesna Gagić and Miomira Đurđanović, PhD "Bibliography of works of Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac"

The promotion of publication from the series of bibliographies by the authors Vesna Gagić and Miomira Đurđanović, entitled "Bibliography of works of Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac" was held on Friday 20th March 2015 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the hall No.6 (10, Kneginje Ljubice st.). On the promotion, the editor Dragan Tomić, MA, the reviewers Vera Petrović, MA and Sonja Cvetković, PhD, as well as the authors Vesna Gagić and Miomira Đurđanović, PhD were speaking. The project and printing of this bibliography was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Information.

Leskovac Cultural Center organized a promotion of printed and discography editions of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš. The lecture by prof. Branka Parlić and projection of film "Entr'acte - Cinema - the beginning of film music"

The lecture by prof. Branka Parlić, a pianist from Novi Sad and projection of film Entr'acte entitled "Cinema - the beginning of film music" was held on Thursday 26th February 2015, at 1 pm at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, in the hall no. 6. The theme of the lecture was the first soundtrack in the silent era, which was composed in 1924 by Erik Satie (1866-1925) for the film Entr'acte / Interlude.

The opera "The Barber of Seville"

The National Theatre in Niš, Niš Symphony Orchestra and the Faculty of Arts in Niš, have jointly prepared another opera at the National Theatre stage. The premiere of the opera "The Barber of Seville" was held on Monday 23th February at the National Theatre. The premiere was also attended by opera champions of Novi Sad and Belgrade Opera, as well as the conductor Darinka Matić Marović. The conductor is Milena Injac, director Ivan Vuković, while the project author is Suzana Kostić, PhD. The photographs were taken by Dejan Ristić, a student of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Department of Applied Arts.

Intensive master class course for clarinet - Aleksandar Tasić

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized from 3rd to 5th February 2015 an intensive master class course for clarinet, by Aleksandar Tasić, a full professor of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Accompanist: Milica Micić, senior artistic associate of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. At the end of the master class course, the active participants performed at the final concert. Apart from the master class course, professor Tasić held an interactive lecture on "The right choice of reed, techniques for finishing. Plastic reed, for and against!?"
