The participation of prof. dr Danijela Stojanović and prof. dr Nataša Nagorni at International Seminar on Harmony and Polyphony in Skopje

On the occasion of the international cooperation between the University of Niš, Faculty of Arts in Niš and Europa Prima International University, the Faculty of Music in Skopje, at the personal invitation of the dean-prof. Ljupče Koskarov, PhD, Danijela Stojanović, PhD, Assoc. prof, and Nataša Nagorni Petrov, PhD, Assoc. prof at the Faculty of Arts in Niš participated in the International Seminar on Harmony and Polyphony, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia. On 20th June 2024, in the concert gallery of the Faculty of Music in Skopje, the teachers held a lecture on the topic MEETING OF HARMONY AND POLYPHONY IN CONSTANTINE’S FUGUE BY DRAGAN TOMIĆ, which was about looking at the different elements of harmony and polyphony and their application in contemporary creativity. The discussion after the lecture contributed significantly to the interpretation of harmonic and polyphonic aspects. On that occasion, the rector of the International University, prof. dr Aleksandr Trajkovski and Dean of the Faculty of Music, Prof Ljupče Koskarov, PhD, as a sign of cooperation, presented several important publications of our Faculty.

The Faculty of Arts in Niš received a violin handmade by violinist Mirko Vukeljić from Doboj (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as a gift

Dear students and colleagues, we are extremely pleased to inform you that the Faculty of Arts has become the owner, i.e. received a violin handmade by violinist Mirko Vukeljić (Bosnia and Herzegovina) as permanent ownership. Honorable Mr. Vukeljić dedicated this instrument to the students of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš. On behalf of the students and staff of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš, we thank you for this valuable gift that will be meaningful to students and on which generations of students will be able to progress. The instrument was taken over by the vice-dean for artistic and scientific work, full prof. 100 points to Lazar Mutavdžić at International Competition “OCHRID PEARLS”

Lazar Mutavdžić, a third-year violin student at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, in the class of prof. Marija Rajković, MA, won I prize with 100 points in C category for soloists and, as a finalist, won the third cash prize in the category of all instruments and categories at the International competition of young musicians “OCHRID PEARLS” European Union of music competitions for youth. He received a standing ovation in the competition final and will perform in Macedonia as a soloist with the symphony orchestra from Bitola with virtuoso works for violin and symphony orchestra. In the final, Lazar performed the first movement of the concerto for violin and piano by P. I. Tchaikovsky in D major.

Exhibition of students and teachers “Inspiration from tradition” of the Erasmus+ mixed intensive program “Tradition and modernity-digital transformations”

We invite you to the opening of the Exhibition “Inspiration from Tradition”, which will be held on 18th June  at 1 pm in the Faculty of Arts in Niš Concert-Exhibition Hall.

The exhibition will feature the works of students and teachers from five universities, created as a result of creative cooperation during the implementation of the Erasmus+ mixed intensive program for students “Tradition and Modernity – Digital Transformations” held in Veliko Tarnovo in 2023. Award for graphics “Velizar Krstić” to Aleksandra Milutinović and Uroš Milinčić

On 13th June 2024, a three-member commission consisting of: prof. DA Slobodan Radojković, president, members Nataša Budimlija Krstić, MA and prof. Bojan Živić, MA, examined the displayed graphics at the Annual Exhibition of students of all years at the Faculty of Arts in Niš Fine Arts Department. Fine arts were analyzed elements and the technical segment of the exhibited graphic sheets that present the achievements of students in the course of Graphics and Graphics with technology in the past academic year.

The commission made the following decision: The award for graphics “Velizar Krstić” for the year 2024 is equally shared by Aleksadra Milutinović, IV-year student of UAS, for the graphic entitled: “Biri, biri” and Uroš Milinčić, III-year student of UAS, for the graphic entitled: “Peacock over peacocks”, both executed in the technique of lithography on aluminum. The decision was made unanimously. Explanation of the committee: The committee highlights the creative potential of III-year student of UAS, Maja Petković, and praises her overall activity during the past year.

Faculty of Arts at the Erasmus Mixed Intensive Program “Medieval Painting Techniques” in Veliko Tarnovo

The Faculty of Arts in Niš had the opportunity to participate in the mixed Erasmus intensive program “Medieval Painting Techniques” organized at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Veliko Tarnovo from 27th to 31st May 2024. The Faculty was represented by five students: Nikola Milanov, Jelena Malikov, Aleksandra Milutinović, Miljana Dimitrijević and Uroš Milinčić, led by Assoc. prof. Stevan Kitić. Our students, together with students from other participating countries, were assigned to teams for: seko technique, icon in ceramics, stained glass, calligraphy and ebru technique, and they performed the works in the studios of the Department of Church Art, Orthodox Theological Faculty. This program was beneficial to both students and teachers, not only because of the acquired experiences, skills and competencies, but also because of the cooperation between teachers and students of partner institutions, participants in the program.

Author’s concert of Anđela Spasić and Pavle Dobić “Clash of Worlds”

The works of two young pianists and composers, Andjela Spasić and Pavle Dobić, will be performed at the “Clash of Worlds” author’s concert. Their vision of contemporary musical expression is supported by the collaboration of several great Niš artists.

Prize awarding to students of undergraduate and master academic studies in Painting for the academic year 2023/2024

On 7th June 2024, the committee for awarding prizes to students of undergraduate and master academic studies in Painting evaluated all the works exhibited at the Annual Exhibition of students of the Department of Fine Arts and made an unanimous decision to award the following prizes:

Award for the overall artistic results achieved in the master academic studies in Painting

Success of accordion students in Portugal

At 27th International Accordion Competition in Alcobaça (Portugal), students in the class of prof. Miljan Bjeletić, MA, achieved remarkable success. Fourth- year student Stefan Dimitrijević won I place in the “Senior” concertist category, while student Veljko Jović won II place in the same category. The competition was realized in two stages. Stefan Dimitrijević was invited by the organizers to hold a solo concert next year in Portugal at the same competition, as well as at the competition in Mons (Belgium).
