Piano students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš — Petar Pavlović, Iva Vićentijević, Andrijana Stajić and Vasilije Glavašević — in the class of DA Stevan Spalević, Assoc. Prof., participated in the master class of pianist Bruno Canino (Bruno Canino, Italy), held on 10th and 11th October 2025 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, as part of III International Piano Festival Hammer.
Creative workshop of students and teachers of the Faculty of Arts at the event “Vilarium” on the occasion of Children’s Week
On the occasion of Children’s Week, from 10th to 17th October 2025, organized by the Children’s Cultural and Recreational Center in Niš and with the support of partners and friends, the event “Vilarium – a magical city for children and youth” was held in Čair Park, in which imagination, play and creativity were the focus of attention.
Fourth-year students of undergraduate academic studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, Isidora Očaj, Lea Tomić and Saša Branković, under the mentorship of DA Miljana Radenkovic, assistant professor at the Department of Applied Arts and the author of the activity, held an art workshop in the field of graphic design.

Works by students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš at the event “In the name of science”
On 17th October 2025, “Čegar” Elementary School in Niš hosted the Science Fair for the first time under the slogan “In the name of science”, bringing together a large number of children and young people who entered this world through games, presentations, creative workshops, quizzes and scientific experiments, and the Faculty of Arts once again contributed to the event of cultural significance held in our city.
On this occasion, animations by the third-year students of the Basic Academic Studies Program – Graphic Design, created in the Graphic Communications course under the mentorship of Anita Milić, full professor, and DA Miljana Radenkovic, assistant professor at the Department of Applied Arts, were presented.

Concert of solo singing students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Class of MA Saša Arsenkov
In the Concert Hall of the Primary School “Vladimir Djordjević” in Aleksinac, on 22nd October 2025, at 7 pm, students of the Solo Singing Department, Andjela Jokić – soprano and Pavle Arandjelović – baritone, in the class of MA Saša Arsenkov, accompanied by the piano of Andjela Stanković, will hold a concert in which they will present works of the following composers: Scarlatti, Handel, Bizet, Puccini and others.
Prof. Nikola Peković awarded for outstanding contribution
Nikola Peković, full professor at the Accordion Department of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Nikola Peković, has received two significant awards that confirm his exceptional artistic and pedagogical commitment.
He is the winner of the prestigious “Classical Music” award for the best male performer in Serbia for 2024. He is also the winner of the “Aleksandar Pavlović” award of the Serbian Composers’ Association, for outstanding contribution to the affirmation of Serbian music in the country and abroad.
These awards are a confirmation of Prof. Peković’s long-standing artistic work and his contribution to the affirmation of the accordion as a concert instrument, as well as the promotion of contemporary Serbian music on the domestic and international stage.
Participation in the jury of accordion professors and student success at 78th Accordion World Cup
At the end of September, the Accordion World Cup was held in East Sarajevo (Coupe Mondiale). The Faculty of Arts in Niš professors, Miljan Bjeletić, full prof. and Nikola Peković, full prof. were delegates and members of the jury at this prestigious competition, which has been held every year in a different country for 78 years.
Also, students in the xclass of prof. Nikola Peković achieved excellent results in Masters student category, and also the best results of all Serbian representatives in the solo student categories for classical music, i.e. categories without age limit: Petar Bešović, a student at MAS, won 5th place, while Mirko Šunjevarić, a first-year student at OAS, won 6th place in competition with 29 competitors from: France, Italy, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Latvia, North Macedonia and Moldova.
Faculty of Arts in Niš at XVI European Researchers’ Night
The Faculty of Arts of the University of Niš presented itself at this year’s European Researchers’ Night under the slogan “In step with science”, on 26th September 2025, with the multimedia installation “STOP!” This event has been organized for twenty years with the support of the European Commission throughout the Old Continent, with the aim of affirming researchers and science in an interesting way, bringing their work closer to the wider public and encouraging young people to choose a scientific and research career.

Participation of the Faculty of Arts in Niš teachers and students of in “BIP Educational Practices Related to the Cultural Traces of the Balkans” Erasmus + project, North Macedonia, Pretor 2025
The Faculty of Arts in Niš participated in BIP Educational Practices Related to the Cultural Traces of the Balkans Erasmus + project organized by the International Slavic University in St. Nicholas, North Macedonia. The project was conceptualized by Prof. dr Marijana Mojnova Garmidolova from the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
The program was attended by students and mentors from the University of Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), the University of Pitesti (Romania), the University of Arts in Riga (Latvia), the International Slavic University (North Macedonia), and the Faculty of Arts in Niš was represented by Ema Djurdjević and Jelena Petković, fourth-year students, Petra Milojević and Julija Zlatanovski, third-year students of undergraduate academic studies in Painting, and mentor prof. MA Katarina Djordjević.
The program included a virtual and work component. The participants presented the cultural heritage of the country and the city they come from, and the work process took place in the form of workshops – painting a common canvas, painting using the encaustic technique, and interpreting symbols using stencils.
The resulting works were exhibited on 7th June 2025, at the premises of the International Slavic University in Pretor, and the dissemination of the results and the presentation of workshops and expert guidance through the cultural heritage of North Macedonia were completed at the end of September 2025.
Exhibition of students and professors of the Faculty of Arts in Niš
“Everything is free!”, an exhibition of drawings/objects/videos by students and professors of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, authored by Assoc. Prof. DA Jelena Trajković Popivoda, opens on Saturday, 9th September at 7 pm at Kornjača Gallery, Belgrade, and organized by the Association of Painters and Painting Lovers Kornjača.
The exhibition will be opened by historian of art Nevena Karanović.

Call for participation in the competition for exhibition activities in 2026
The Faculty of Arts in Niš is announcing a COMPETITION for exhibition activities in 2026 at the Concert-Exhibition Space of the Faculty of Arts.
Eligibility:
The competition is open to both domestic and international academic artists, as well as students who have achieved outstanding results in the artistic field they are studying at any domestic or foreign university.
The exhibition season of the Faculty of Arts for 2026 will take place in the following periods:
- March 20 – June 15, 2026
- October 1 – November 30, 2026
APPLICATION
The application for the competition must include:
- The Competition Form (download HERE)
- Digital reproductions/photos of 10 works for jury review, and the exhibition catalog in PDF format (if available) or 72 dpi resolution in JPG format.
The application must be sent electronically to the email: milic@artf.ni.ac.rs
The competition is open until January 20, 2026.
A five-member artistic council appointed by the Faculty will review the competition materials, and participants will be notified about the results of the competition via the provided email or contact phone by February 20, 2026.
The Faculty of Arts in Niš will provide exhibition space, organize the exhibition activities, offer media promotion, announce the event on the Faculty’s website and social media, cover printing costs (posters and exhibition catalog), and provide expenses for the stay in Niš. The exhibitors will be responsible for transportation costs and other related expenses. It is the author’s responsibility to properly prepare the works and ensure the transport of the exhibition upon arrival and departure.
