Vasilije Glavašević, a second-year piano student of basic academic studies in the class of DMA Stevan Spalević, associate professor, won I prize (96.6 points) in VI category at IX International Sirmium Music Fest Competition, which was held from 22nd to 27th April 2025 in Sremska Mitrovica.

Bratislav Djordjević, a 4th-year piano student of basic academic studies in the class of DMA Stevan Spalević, associate professor, held a solo concert on 7.4.2025. at the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade. The program included works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven.
Students and professors from the Department of Applied Arts Participation at FLUID Design Forum in Montenegro and POP-UP Design Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The works of Ana Naumović and Vera Nikolić, students of master studies and PhD Miljana Radenković, Assist. Prof. at the Department of Applied Arts at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, have been selected for the FLUID – Regional Design Awards for Young Designers 2025 competition for exhibition at international exhibitions in Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The second public call on the topic Promise me the future!, was announced for the Poster category, by the FLUID Design Forum and the NVU FLUX Cetinje. Young (18 to 35 years old) graphic designers, illustrators, design and architecture students, visual artists, photographers and architects from the region (Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania) were eligible to participate. The jury, consisting of: Mirko Ilić (USA), Borut Wild (RS), Dejan Kršić (CRO), Saša Pešikan (BIH), Nikola Bada Radonjić (MNE), Sandro Drinovac (BIH) and Ana Matić (MNE), selected 34 posters (28 authors) from 182 submitted works, which, together with the selected posters from the first round, will be displayed at the FLUID Design Forum (Cetinje, Montenegro, April 2025) and the POP-UP Design Festival (Sarajevo, BIH, May 2025). This exhibition of international importance is part of the project segment Thematic Exhibitions and is being implemented as part of the BLENDING project, which is supported by UNESCO within the framework of the Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) project, funded by the European Union with the aim of stimulating dialogue in the Western Balkans through the improvement of the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact. The student works were realized in the Poster course, under the mentorship of PhD Slavica Dragosavac, full prof, and PhD Jovana Nikolić, Assistant with a doctorate.
Works by students from the Department of Applied Arts in First digital monograph of artworks inspired by Serbian folk sayings of the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade and the company Bakina Tajna
Andjela Bučić and Mila Stojanović, third-year students and Luka Mitrović, fourth-year student from the Department of Applied Arts, were selected in a public competition for students of art faculties in Serbia to visually present Serbian folk sayings through personal artistic expression as part of the project Odvajkada.
After the exhibition Odvajkada, which was realized in December 2024, the digital monograph will be permanently available on the official website of the brand Bakina Tajna and the Ethnographic Museum.

First prizes to solo singing students of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš
At the international solo singing competition in Russia “International Gorgeos Voices Festival” Russia ANO «Most Sodruzhestva», Vocal Competition Mezhdunarodne golosa, which was held from 20.12.2024. to 30.1.2025, students from the Department of Solo Singing of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš participated and won the following prizes:
Iva Mladenović, soprano, I category, I prize – 94 points and
Luka Marković, tenor, II category, I prize – 96 points.

Sofia Stajić as a laureate at prestigious competition
Sofija Stajić, a master horn-student in the class of prof. MA Milan Stajić, won the laureate prize at the online competition for young artists Global Young Musicians Competition-Gdansk, Poland in H category as the only registered competitor from Serbia.
Participation of students of the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš at XI International Solo Singer Competition “Artisti della Voce” in Novi Sad
14-15.12.2024. XI International Solo Singer Competition “Artisti della Voce” was held in the Becklyev,s Hall of the Music School“Isidor Bajić”, organized by the FloriArt New Music Vision association in Novi Sad.
Students from the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš also participated in the XI International Solo Singer Competition:
Iva Mladenović, soprano, I year student of OAS, III category – I prize (95 points) and
Luka Marković, tenor, IV year student of OAS, 4th category – I prize (93 points).
The students are in the class of Katarina Simonović Ivanković, MA, full professor of the Department of Solo Singing.
The piano accompaniment at the competition was by Staša Stamenković, MAS student in the class of Dragoslav Aćimović, MA, fullprofessor.

The scientific journal FACTA UNIVERSITATIS ‒ VISUAL ARTS AND MUSIC, whose editor-in-chief is dr Danijela Zdravić Mihailović, full professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, has been rated as a prominent national journal (M52) in 2024.
The journal is published twice a year, and the publisher is the University of Niš.

Cooperation of students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš in the preparation of the Second Didactic Exhibition “(T)HE HEART”
On Tuesday, 3rd December, a didactic exhibition was set up in the Faculty of Pedagogy Hall, which plays an important role in the development of contemporary concepts in art pedagogy. The exhibition provides an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and has an affirmative effect on the professional development of teachers and educators. The material presented at the exhibition was created within the course Fundamentals of Visual Arts, Methods of Teaching Fine Arts 1 and 2, as well as Methods of Fine Arts 1 and 2, and the exhibition was also enriched with their works by students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš. Through practical work, the students explored various aspects of fine arts pedagogy, methods of fine arts education, theories of form and principles of composition, as well as the history of art and technology of fine arts techniques and materials. The exhibition was opened by Assoc. Prof. dr Nataša Gojković, and organized by Assoc. Prof. dr Milica Vojvodić Savić and Assist. Radmila Zečević. The exhibition will be open to visitors until 18th December 2024.
