Exhibition “INTRO” by Miljana Radenković, PhD Assistant at the Department of Applied Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, was opened on August 9th, 2019 at 6 pm, at the Gallery of the Horeum Margi-Ravno Museum in Ćuprija.

Andjela Bratić, MA, full professor performed as a soloist with the chamber ensemble “Amoroso” from Leskovac at the opening of the 36th International Festival “Music Days” in Herceg Novi. She held a concert of contemporary Serbian music as a member of the chamber ensemble “Chamber Band” at the same festival.

On Thursday, August 29th, at 8 pm, a solo exhibition of graphic design works, of Sanja Dević, Assistant professor, entitled “A Book in Miniature” will be opened. The exhibition includes a series of twelve handmade miniature books. The exhibition will last until September 18th, 2019.

Mila Teokarević, a second-year student of the Department of Applied Arts, received special praise for creative approach, as a participant in the photo contest “Objective through music vol. 2”, organized by this year’s “Drum Dum” festival in Leskovac. The exhibition was opened on Wednesday, 17th July 2019, at Leskovac Cultural Center. Mentor: Miljan Nedeljković, Assistant professor

Ivana Milošević, MAS Assistant, held a lecture on the topic “Interests in Choral Music in Elementary Schools in Niš”, on Friday, 5th July 2019 at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, and presented the results of a pilot study conducted in October and November of the school year 2018/19. The research is based on a study of factors that can influence the interest in choral music in students in the second cycle of education, as well as in elementary school teachers.

Anita Milić, Associate professor and Miljana Radenković, Assistant held a one-day graphic design workshop “BE CREATIVE” on 11^th July 2019 at the Center for Culture and Art in Aleksinac. A one-day lecture on design with practical work part in the form of creating ambigram, had the goal to educate young people through the game about current trends in graphic design.

Sanja Dević, Assistant professor and Jefimija Kocić, Assistant will take part at this year’s International Festival ANIMA MUNDI 2019 in Venice. The opening of 2019 – SVEST Festival at the THE ROOM gallery will be held on 25^th July and will last until 20^th September, and at Palazzo Ca ‘Zanardi Residence from 26^th July to 20^th September 2019.

Jelena Jakovljević, DA, participated in the First International Competition of Conductors of the Makris Foundation. The competition was held for seven days and was rounded off with a grand final at the Great Hall of Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade. Jelena performed as a soloist – the first flute of the orchestra Makris.

The exhibition of works by students of the Department of Applied Arts will be opened at the Gallery of the Center for Culture and Art in Aleksinac, on Thursday, 11^th July 2019 at 7 pm. Students of III and IV years of basic academic studies will present themselves with the works created within the course of Graphic Communication, under the mentorship of Anita Milić, Associate professor and Miljana Radenković, an Assistant at the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
