Prof. Jakša Zlatar, full professor at the Music Academy of the University of Zagreb, Croatia, will hold a lecture by invitation on the topic “The Foundations of Piano Teaching Methods” on Tuesday, 7^th May 2019, at 11 am in Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjaževačka 2a. Within the lecture, he will present his publications “Piano Teaching Methods”, “Introduction to Piano Interpretation”, “Selected Chapters from Piano Teaching Methods”. The lecture is organized by the Faculty of Arts in Niš Center for lifelong learning.

Miloš Vuković, a guitar student in the class of Vesna Petković, MA, full professor, won II place in the two-tier competition of the International Guitar Festival in Sarajevo in the oldest category, held on 28^th April 2019. Congratulations! Out of 16 competitors from Denmark, Switzerland, Canada, Serbia, China, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary, he competed in the competition finals, while he won II place with a score of 0.72 points behind the first-placed competitor from Denmark, in the finals of five finalists.

27The concert of students and professors of percussion and guests from Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Italy will be held on Friday, 3^rd May 2019, at 8 pm in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom. The entrance to the concert is free. The students of the Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje in the class of prof. Mojca Sedeu, the students of the Music Academy in Sarajevo in the class of prof. Davor Maraus, and the students of the Faculty of Arts in Niš in the class of prof. Boris Bunjac will perform altogether, as well as the “Murska percussion ensemble” led by Denis Dmitrić from Maribor, Slovenia and Andrea Saracino, a professor and soloist from Italy. Prof. Boris Bunjac will hold a one-day master course for guest students on the same day, at noon.

The audition for the vocal ensemble “Choral theatre” of the Faculty of Arts in Niš will be held on Tuesday, 21^st May 2019, at noon, at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, Kneginje Ljubice 10 str. Students and alumni of the Faculty of Arts in Niš can apply for the competition. Vesna Petković, MA, full professor, chaired the jury at XVII International Music Festival in Ub. The competition of young guitarists took place on 20^th April 2019 at Music school “Petar Stojanović”, under the auspices of the municipality of Ub.

Mas. Nemanja Egerić, MAS, Associate at the Faculty of Arts, held a full-length concert with the flutist Angelina Nikolić, an alumni of the Faculty of Arts, on Friday, 19^th April 2019, at the Culture Castle in Vrnjci Spa. The program included works by S. Franck, A. Jolivet, O. Messiaen and I. Jevtić.

Danka Pajić, MA, Assistant professor, will chair the jury at the Young Pianists Competition in Zaječar, which will be held on Thursday, 24^th April 24 2019.

The concert of the chamber trio “de Janeiro” organized by the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the SASA Branch in Niš and the Faculty of Arts in Niš will take place on Tuesday, 23^rd April 2019, at 8 pm in the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, Knjaževačka 2a.

Sofija Stajić, a third-year horn student in the class of Milan Stajić, MA, Assistant professor, won I prize at International Polyhimnia Competition held in Skopje, Macedonia. Congratulations!

The exhibition “SPATIAL GRAPHICS” of students’ works from the Department of Applied Arts will be opened at Niš Cultural Center Gallery on Friday, 19^th April 2019, at 7 pm. Exhibited works were realized within the course of Spatial Graphics, under the mentorship of Sanja Dević, MA, Assistant professor and Jefimija Kocić, MAS, Assistant.
