“Composer of the Year” Award to Aleksandar Sedlar
Aleksandar Sedlar, MAS, Assistant professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, received the “Composer of the Year” Award for Symphony No. 1 awarded by the music magazine “Musica Classica”. The award ceremony will be held at the Museum of National Theatre in Belgrade, on Thursday, 31st January 2019 at 6 pm. Congratulations! The “Musica Classica” Prize was founded in 2010, when the first issue of the “Musica Classica” magazine was published. It was designed as an acknowledgment to local artists, ensembles, festivals, publishers, critics, music institutions and the media, which made the most significant track on the domestic music scene within the calendar year.

Concerts by Sofija Stajić in Berlin
At the invitation of the international orchestra “German-Nordic Youth Philharmonic Orchestra”, composed of musicians from sixteen world countries, Sofija Stajić, the horn student in the class of Milan Stajić, MA performed at three concerts held in Berlin. The first concert she performed at was the concert of the international wind quintet in Pumpa chamber hall, she performed at the second concert with the orchestra in the same hall, while the third concert was held at the Berlin Philharmonic hall under the conductorship of maestro Andreas Per Kelera.
Nikola Cvetković, MAS published the author’s album
Nikola Cvetković, MAS, associate at the Faculty of Arts in Niš, published the author’s album “In Retrospect”. The album features 11 pianist compositions, inspired by modern composers, which he recorded in December 2018.

Miloš Vuković, the fourth-year guitar student in the class of Vesna Petković, MA will hold a solo concert on Friday, 25th January 2019, in the central concert hall “Philippos Nakes Conservatory” in Athens. This concert is a part of I Award which was won at the Veria International Guitar Festival in 2018.
Politika Award for 2019 to Perica Donkov, MA, full professor
Perica Donkov, MA, full professor, won the Politika Award for Best Exhibition in 2019 for the “Blind Faith” exhibition held at the Legacy House in Belgrade last fall. The jury was composed of art historians Ljiljana Cinkul, Gordana Dobrić, Una Popović, Saša Janjić (president) and editor of the Cultural supplement “Politika” Marija Djordjević, who unanimously decided on the winner.
