Prvi Međunarodni Simpozijum mozaika u Jordanu, autorski projekat mozaičara Zaida Muhamed Arif Al-Avamle (Zaid Muhammad Arif Al-Awamleh – ujedno i Direktor za medije i odnose sa javnošću Opštine As Salt), održan je u periodu od 7. – 24. novembra 2023. godine u gradu As Saltu u Jordanu.
Organizacija Ujedinjenih nacija za obrazovanje, nauku i kulturu (UNESCO) uvrstila je istorijski jordanski grad As Salt na listu svetske baštine kao „grad tolerancije i civilizovanog gostoprimstva“. Tim povodom je realizovan mozaik dimenzija 3,5 sa 2,5 metara, koji je izložen na trgu Akba bin Naf u centru grada As Salt. Ovaj projekat organizovan je pod pokroviteljstvom Ministarstva turizma i antikviteta, Opštine Greater Salt u saradnji i partnerstvu sa Direkcijom za turizam pokrajine Balka, Decentralizovanim savetom pokrajine i Fondacijom za obnovu grada As Salta. Na ovogodišnjem sazivu učestvovalo je više od dvadeset umetnika iz dvanaest zemalja: Alžir, Velika Britanija, Egipat, Italija, Jordan, Liban, Maroko, Nemačka, Portugal, Srbija, Tunis i Holandija. Za izradu mozaika je korišćena bogata paleta lokalnog prirodnog kamena u kombinaciji sa staklenim i zlatnim pločicama. Raznovrsne umetničke prakse i kreativna rešenja učesnika prilikom izrade ove mozaičke kompozicije doprinela su simboličkoj predstavi mira, tolerancije i ljubavi za različitosti.
U realizaciji ovog projekta učestvovala je i Maja Đurovć, docent na Departmanu za likovne umetnosti Fakulteta Umetnosti Univerziteta u Nišu.
The First International Mosaic Symposium in Jordan, the Art project initiated by mosaic artist Zaid Muhammad Arif Al-Awamleh – Director of Public Relations and Media of Greater Salt Municipality, was held from November 7th till November 24th 2023 in the city of As Salt in Jordan.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) listed the historic Jordanian city of As Salt as a World Heritage Site as a “city of tolerance and civilized hospitality”. For that occasion a mosaic composition measuring 3.5 x 2.5 meters, representing the cityscape of As Salt was realized, which is now displayed on Uqba bin Nafi square in the center of As Salt. This project is organized with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Greater Salt Municipality in cooperation and partnership with the Balqa Governorate Tourism Directorate, the Decentralized Governorate Council and the Salt Reconstruction Foundation. More than twenty artists from twelve world countries participated in this event: Algeria, Great Britain, Egypt, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Tunisia and the Netherlands. A rich palette of local natural stone combined with glass and gold tiles was used to create the mosaic. Various artistic practices and creative solutions were implemented in the creation of this mosaic composition in order to symbolically represent a message of peace, tolerance and love for diversity.
Maja Đurovć, assistant professor at the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Arts, University of Niš, took part in the realization of this art project.
